I Feel like My Belly Button Is Going to Explode.

I am 30 weeks pregnant with my second and I didn't feel like this when I was pregnant with my daughter. I feel like my belly button is about to explode and it hurts sometimes. It goes out a lot, like if the baby is pushing it from the inside or something. Sometimes the pain is kid of bad and I have to press my hand against it to make it go down to normal again. Has this happened to you while pregnant? As I said, when I was pregnant with my daughter this never happened to me, I mean my belly button was out like now but it never hurt. Should I be concerned?

What can I do next?

You may have a small hernia if it bulges out and you can push it back. Be sure to mention this to your doctor soon. It's common, but can be serious on occasion.

Mine never hurt, but with each pregnancy it popped out sooner. Im 5 months and its already pretty much out. With my second baby my family said my belly looked like a one eyed monster. lol. I would probably mention the pain to your doc though.

Are you doing any kind of stretching, exercising?
Every so often, lie on a flat firm surface -- not a bed, possibly the floor -- and press the small of your back down so that your pelvis is tilted
and your back is close to being in a straight line. As you do this,
suck in (as much as you can) your tummy. This will give the area
around your belly button a little rest. Meanwhile, your belly button
probably will not explode.
Talk to your doctor at your next check-up.
Good luck.

it definitely sounds like you have a hernia. The belly button is a common place for that to happen during pregnancy. It happened to me when i was pregnant with my daughter. unfortunately nothing can be done until after you have the baby and even then they don't want to do the surgery unless you don't plan to have any more babies.

Your o.b. should be able to confirm whether it's a hernia but after the baby is born you'll have to visit your family dr.

i wish I'd had a maternity belt with the last baby. everything hurt, and she just seemed far to big for me to carry, in the end i wouldnt go out b/c it hurt to walk etc. I have heard great things about the belt and it makes sense, some extra support to save your skin and muscle. Walmart carries one for about 20-25$.

That happened to me with my 2nd. It hurt so bad I thought I had gotten an infection-- went to the dr and they said it was because my skin was stretching so much--it was irritating the belly button. I put cream on it and just waited it out until delivery. After delivery-everything was fine. Hang in there.
