I'm 35 and pregnant again...I have nothing for this baby. Where can I find a low cost or free crib? I lost my job since my early doctor appointments took up so much time, my van is currently not running and I don't know when I'll be able to afford to get that fixed. I'm on the verge of a break-down. I'm not even sure with my husband's small income if we'll be able to afford to stay where we are let alone fix the car. This means all money goes into our home and vehicle so there is nothing left for me to get started on baby stuff. I've attended a few classes to get a diaper bag with a few diapers, 1 bottle and a couple onesies but I'm not having luck to get what I really need. I'll get a car seat from the hospital thankfully but I really need a crib, bassinet or play pen with bassinet attachment. I'm even willing to barter services for these items. Can all you SA mom's help me out with any suggestions.

You might want to also post on Craigslist what you need, people are giving things away all of the time. I also sent you a private message.
Hi Candace,
Congratulations on the new addition to your family. I hope that your pregnancy and birth are healthy.
I know things are hard now but remember that everything passes and everything changes. In the mean time, I might have a blanket and I do have a stroller that I can give you. I'll PM you with my number.

You might try Any Baby Can, ###-###-####. They have safe sleep classes and after the class, participants are given a free Pack-n-play for the baby to sleep in safely for the first several months.
Set yourself up on Freecycle.com. It is mainly to post give aways, but you can also submit a request for specific items. Good Luck!
I don't have the number but you should contact AnyBabyCan. They provide all sorts of help including paying utilities. Wish I had the number for you.
I have seen lots of baby stuff given away for free on Freecycle.com. If you set up an account (just a username and password) you can post things that you would like to get rid of or post things that you need. You could also try Craig's List. You just select the city that you are in and they have some stuff for free and others that are being sold. Some people don't realize that if you are purchasing used items they should cost less than new items but you can find really great deals, too.
You can also register with all of the baby sites. If there is a diaper brand you prefer, go to their website. Often if you register they will send you coupons for baby products and even samples. I'd pick an email address where you don't mind getting solicitations because they frequently sell your data to other baby product sellers. This bothered me at first but then I found some great deals so I got over it.
My cousin also gets some great food and medical benefits from WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) because she is not working and her husband isn't making a lot of money. I don't know the cut off for income or anything but they get a card every month to buy food and diapers with. She has also been given formula.
When are you due? Do you know if you are having a boy or a girl? Good luck, Candace!
