My husband our two children and I are moving in two months to Pennsylvania. His job is located in Sharon, Pa and I need to know what the good areas are. I want to live in a new, clean, safe Neighborhood..... What are there preschools and daycare's like? Looking for a home to rent $1500 a month or less. House down there is cheaper so we can afford a nice please :) Now I am a city girl and like my shopping so it would be nice to live close to civilization. On the other hand I wont a good country location because I am a photographer. Please help me with any information you have about the surrounding areas.
Thank you

I lived about an hour south of here for a few years and have only driven through. Definitely small, and I don't think there's much city-like shopping close by. There are outlets and OneAndDone mentioned which are nice but just be prepared...it's not like shopping in a big city. I was a bit disappointed when the local people raved about them, mostly because it was talked up to be amazing but wasn't my thing. You might like it though, that's just my opinion!
There are a lot of nice rural areas for photography, the Appalachians and the great lakes are close. I think it's slightly less picturesque than Spokane but I'm partial to the beauty of the Northwest :)
I think you'll be getting a pretty safe area anywhere up there by his work. I'd focus the search on newer homes/rentals as that part of PA and OH can be a little depressed. I don't specifically remember Sharon though so I'm sorry I can't point you to a more definitive location.
Hi, and welcome to western Pennsylvania.
Sharon is in a rural area. However, you are about an hour or so from Pittsburgh. So you will live in the country, take beautiful pictures, and come to the city for fun. As others have mentioned, there is a nice outlet mall not too far from Sharon and you will have to come to the North Hills of Pittsburgh if you like higher-end designer clothes.
Sorry I can't give you details about Sharon itself, I live in Pittsburgh so I don't know Sharon that well.
Quaint area. "Farm-y" for sure. Small town.
Home of Reyers--a huge shoe store and a nice outlet mall in Grove City, nearby.
My old bosses are from Sharon and they have fond memories of Sharon and go back to visit the community all the time. They say it's a great place to raise a family. The BEST chocolate place is there, Daffin's! Lucky...!
Don't know that area, but welcome to PA!
I suggest that you contact a few realtors in the area. Start with a realtor in an area close to where your husband will be working. If that area doesn't seem to be one that you want to live in, go further out. You can find realtors on the Internet, in the yellow pages, or by googling realtors and the city name.
Realtors are trained and experienced in describing areas to include all the questions you ask here. Tell them what you want and they'll tell you where you can find it even, in most cases, if it's not in their area.
Also google Sharon, Pa. and the county. The town and county will have an official web site with a lot of info. Google the school district, too.
Start with a Realtor, then check out a few websites such as the City/County and Chamber of Commerence.
If you have never lived near a faming area check out in person, more than once. Farms have a smell all their own, manure can really make you lose your appetite. And you just might be introduced to several varieties if animal you have never seen before.
Go in with an open mind. What you give up in shopping and lattes, you make up in peace and quiet -- and safety.
