Husband and Kid Activities for Weekends

I've been working weekends while my husband takes care of our 4 year old and 18 month old daughters. They are all getting tired of spending weekends at home and my husband is a bit nervous about taking the kids out by himself. We are the type of parents who need to be able to keep both eyes on our children at all times. We've taken them to "the zone" at mckinney as well as the Stonebriar Malls playground. Neither of those places make it easy to keep an eye on both children at the same time. I'd love to find a place that allows the children to run around but also has an arts and crafts area. We live in West Plano.

thanks!!!

Try either of these places.

1- Cute as a Button Kids, located at Coit and 121 in Plano. It's set-up like a tiny city and the kids can dress up and use their imagination. There's only one entrance/exit and they have some comfy chairs and a tv for the parents ( which your dh will probably like!)

( FYI- someone informed me that the website isn't working- so they may be having technical difficulties? The phone number is ###-###-####)

2- Clubhouse for Kids, also in Plano. I think it's at Parker & Independence, but it's been awhile since we've been there. Same concept as #1, but bigger. Also, only one entrance /exit.
You can usually find $ off coupons for clubhouse in Dallas Child and those types of magazines.

Also, the play area at the Willowbend mall is more contained than Stonebriar and I think it's nicer and cleaner. It also only has one way in/out.

The Wiggles Play Center in Frisco has been a lifesaver during the winter. It's 7.99 per person and there is a padded toddler area for smaller babies. Also Feat of Clay pottery place in plano is fun for my 3 year old son. My 2 y/o needs some help with the projects. Good luck....

Wiggles Playcenter in Frisco- kids wear ID bracelets and can only leave with parents. They have a website with all the info.
Try going to the park to feed the ducks and watch the dogs walking by on leashes.
He might also have fun having the kids help create their own arts and crafts area at home on the back porch. Crayola makes washable paint, erasable crayons, etc. The kids could help by finding household items to trace or use as stamps: lids, egg cartons, sponges, etc. They could make a picture to give Mommy when she gets home!

My kids love trips to the local library or neighborhood park. "Daddy dates" also will often involve a trip to Petco to look at the fish and lizards and birds and mice. There's a little ice cream parlor that is a fun outing, and one time I even took them to QT to mix their own "fun drinks" from the huge wall of fountain drinks. Chuck E. Cheese is good too.

something simple my husband loves doing with my son... going through the car wash. It's like seeing a show or something. :) Your husband can make it fun by bringing little treats.
