is Hub the next age range up from Nick Jr.? i stumbled on it yesterday and my 4 year old daughter loves it.
so far it seems educational and great, just like Nick jr. anyone have any input?
(other than "throw out your tv" etc) :) my daughter only watches a little tv each day.
i'm just wondering if this is the next step up channel-wise. thanks!

I did put my TV in the closet when I couldn't get my daughter to get disengaged from the TV and we talked much more together. Now she has 3 kids under 4 and she and her husband have never had a TV together. Their children can go into a store and do not ask to take any toys home and they can discern which things are more important to them. They have a scheduled outside time, inside play time, quiet time and helping out time. She uses the internet and her computer to expose the older ones to the shows she wants them to see, and believe it or not, they prefer musicals and people shows on Hula.com (Mr. Rogers) to the high energy cartoons. Her oldest is at the top of his class and is extremely personable to others. I know this doesn't answer your question, but have her watch what is important to your values.

It seems to be a mix of things from my childhood and some newer stuff. Overall, I like it more than some of the other "kid" channels, because the content is more in line with what we want our son to learn/watch as far as behavior goes. It also had some things that I have seen in a REALLY long time, so I was able to relive my childhood a bit. I can't really say where it falls in the line-up for age range, but I hope this helps.

sWell, I like hub, we keep Nick Jr on, because of no commercials, and I record on Hub, like Strawberry shortcake, my little pony, and shows like that they they dont play on other channels, and at night, they have all the old school shows, like wonder years, and stuff like that for adults. but they do have some good movies, but the next 1 up from nick Jr. IDK

It took the place of Discovery Kids channel. I'm not sure if Discovery Kids just changed it's name or the Hub is a new network all it's own. It does seem geared to the next age range above Nick Jr. I'm sure you could get more information on the programming on their website, if they have one.

We love it at our house.
In the evenings it has the shows I loved as a kid like Family Ties etc.
But then my kids also still like Nick Jr, and sprout , at 6 yrs and 9 yrs.
