In 2005 I was diagnosed with HPV. They did a coloposcopy and determined that the cells were not pre-cancerous. I had/have bumps in my perineal area, I guess that's genital warts? Can't see 'em, couldn't tell ya! Anyway, at my PAP last year, I tested negative for HPV. My doctor says it can just go away like that. The bumps seem to be disappearing too. Definitely have them biopsy some cells, because if you're at risk for cervical cancer, you want to know ASAP! There are a couple different kinds of cells and it's my understanding (?) that the ones that cause warts are not cancerous. I was scared and worried too.
Also, just as a side note, I am so behind that HPV vaccine and my daughter will be getting it when she's old enough. I will do anything to reduce the risk that my child will get cancer.
