Totally normal all kids lose their teeth at different rates. She will be fine.
Hi. My 4 1/2 year old daughter lost her first tooth yesterday. She will be 5 in February. Is this too young? I thought you didn't start losing teeth until 5 or 6 but she is only 4 1/2. I am sort of freaking out. Thanks moms.

Kids lose their teeth earlier nowadays. Some even in Preschool. When my daughter was in Kindergarten...LOTS of kids were already losing their teeth, my daughter included.
Kids even develop quicker nowadays, physically too. BUT, that does not mean their emotional development is accelerated. They are still a child. Some kids in my daughter's Kinder class even had prominent hair growing on their legs already.
If anything, take your girl to a Pediatric Dentist, just to examine and check her. The Dentist can then answer any questions.
take care,

I work in a pre-k class. I have seen several children lose teeth at 4 years old. It's not uncommon, don't worry about it.
That's normal. No worries.
Hi M., I always thought it wasn't until first or seconf grade, but both my daycare boys who were in kendergarden last school year, both lost their firt tooth, so I guess you your dsughter is on target. you can always ask her pediatrician to see what she says. J. L.
Hi M.,
Don't worry, your daughter is totally normal. My son was born with 2 teeth and is 4 1/2 also and is about to lose his first one too. Not everyone is the same. Just make sure her teeth are well taken care of. Mother nature will do the rest.
