My nephew started teething very early. His adult teeth came in ahead of time, as well. I wouldn't worry about it. Just make sure you brush them.
My daughter was born on Sept 12th, so she is 3.5 weeks old and her two bottomw teeth (the ones that usually come in first) are already coming in. They are at the bottom of her gum line and I am worried. How young is too young for them to be getting teeth. I have heard if they are there at birth they pull them because they are a choking hazard, since ther gums are not firm enough yet and teeth may not be set as well. But since hers are growing in I doubt it'll be that big of a problem. Is it okay for her to be getting them now. My son got his first 2 at 3 months and that was really hard with breast feeding because he didnt understand the word no very well, so I am worried about that with her, especially since she has a very small mouth so we have to work very hard already to get a good latch. Any one else experience teething this young?

I've heard that teeth do start coming in from birth. I know the age varies, but I've never ever heard of them pulling them!I've never seen a baby without 2 fromt teeth until their permenant teeth come in either. Don't worry- It HAS to be okay for her to be getting them now because she is!!! Enjoy every moment and Hats off to you for nursing. It's just the best!! I know you asked for people who have been in this position, but I just wanted to offer some support. Best H.
Hello, I know this advice is late but I just saw your request while I was looking for advice on something else. My twins were born 11 weeks early and in the NICU for over 3 months. While we were they, their doctor thought Jonah had tooth buds. He also said they had to be pulled out because they were a choking hazard. Teeth that come out this early are just buds that could fall out. And since he was a preemie and still learning how to suck on a nipple, they said it would prevent him from learning to suck properly. Luckily the white buds on his gums were actually not teeth and they disappeared. The nurse thought it might hav been Thrush instead of teeth. I hope everything worked out for you and your daughter.
wow how would they be a choking hazard? they arent going to move or come out? i would just say wait and see what happend theres no set time that teeth are to come in they just say usually between 4 and 12 months they should get their first teeth. my daughter started teething at 4 months but didnt break a tooth through till right after she got solidly on a cup at 7 1/2 months. i see your breast feeding (awesome! good job!) so i see how it can be difficult on you. but i guess youll just have to take it one day at a time! good luck!
