B.B.
I just took it away. I put the up and he didn't have a choice...he didn't even blink. He didn't cry for them, or get upset. he just drank out of a cup. I sometimes think a drawn out process, is very confusing for them.
My daughter just turned 1 years old. I am trying to wean her from the bottle but she seems to only want to drink milk from the bottle. However, she knows how to drink from the cup and straw but drinks only water from it. How do I get her to drink milk from the cup and not from the bottle anymore? I have tried to get her to drink milk from the cup but she refuses too unless it's in a bottle.

One day all of our bottles disappeared. My daughter saw they were not there and since she wanted her milk she drank it out of a cup. Every once in awhile she asked for a bottle and I would remind her they were gone. She was fine.
Good luck!
my mom told me this trick & it worked... put a tiny bit of Vanilla extract in the sippy cup, then put the cup where she can reach it & walk away, see what she does....
PS don't let her see you put the milk in the cup
Good Luck :)
This is hard. Just went through it. My dau was on 4 a day and I dropped one per week, starting with the least favorite. She drank less oz for awhile but ped says no worries. I bought sippy that was a bit bottle like too. I had to hid doll's bottles bc she kept trying to drink from them.
I kept babying my son and letting him have his bottle. The I realized he was refusing and drink at meal time and take two 8 oz bottles at nap time and bed time! I couldn't believe I had let it get that bad. One day I said, ok this is it, and hid all the bottles. I geared up for a really difficult couple of days. He was fine! He just snuggled in my lab before nap and bed and didn't look back. What was I so afraid of?
you replace the milk in the bottle with water, and everytime she wants the bottle, you hand it to her with water in it only, all day and even in the night, it took just two days to get my daughter off the bottle. A day care provider friend told me the trick, and to do it when they turn one, the longer you wait, the longer it takes, she will eventually get the idea.
Toss the bottle in the garbage. She doesn't "need" milk anymore, and if she wants it she will drink it from the cup. Just never put it in a bottle anymore. This is coming from a Mom of a two and a half year old son that still drinks from a bottle. I just havn't done it yet. Dont be me. :)
