I'm shocked you've held it in long enough!!! I called my mom bawling on my way out of the doctor's office to tell her we were expecting twins. Good luck to you!
I'm done freaking out about the wonderful surprise of our sonogram yesterday and I'm starting to get excited. How to tell my parents that we're having Twins? I saw a shirt online that said Grandma of Twins and I was thinking of getting it for my mom, but I don't have time to order as I'm flying out of town on Friday and don't want to spend a fortune on shipping. I can make it myself, but is there another crafty way I can tell my parents? It needs to be small enough to travel as I'm flying to see them.

Just for cute and fast and inexpensive, go to the Dollar Store and get 2 "Grama Brag Books". Small photo albums for her to carry in her purse to show off her grand kids. Usually they have some that say Gramas Brag Book on the cover. If you hand her one,, she will be happy, but then say, "oh, by the way,, youll need this one too" and give her the second one, and watch her face!
How about looking for a shirt at a local store that says "I love Grandma" and buy two of them? When she opens it up she will question why there is 2 of the same thing. Or that goes even with a picture frame. I bet you could find something like that at Target or even a Hallmark shop. Double congrats!!
First of all, congratulations! I am so happy for you!
-A small wooden box with two cute pacifiers inside.
-Buy two white onesies at your local Wal-Mart and iron-ons. Simply iron on "double trouble" on each onesie.
-Buy a simple inexpensive silver bracelet w/2 silver pacifier charms (or 2 baby bottle charms....whatever they have).
- buy a bag of fortune cookies at your grocery store, fish out the fortune piece of paper and w/tweezers and re-insert your own message: blessed with twins, double trouble coming our way etc
-You could also "make" the Grandma of Twins shirt yourself if you can get to a Wal-Mart store before you fly out
-Two framed sonogram pics
Good luck and have fun! :)
I asked if they wanted to see the baby's (babies) first picture and handed my mom and sister the sono picture. My mom looked at it and said, oh how cute! Then she got a funny look on her face, looked closer and said, it looks like there are 2 in there. I smiled and said there is
two in there and started crying. Then she started laughing and crying. Everyone (we were having a family birthday party) looked at us like we were nuts because they didn't hear me. It was great!
Congratulations! : )
Get two white baby onesises and some puffy paint. On one of the onesies paint "Thing 1" with the puffy paint and wrap it in tissue paper. Then on the other onesie write "Thing 2". Wrap #2 in tissue and put it at the bottom of the gift bag. Wrap the "Thing 1" onesie to look like that is the present. When she opens it and you share the joy of "baby on the way", tell her that you think she missed something in the bag, that she should look again. Then she can pull out the Thing 2 onesie and have a bigger surprise. :) Good Luck and Congrats!
Hopefully your not leaving today.
In our mall here we have a place that will write what you want on a coffee cup. How about one of those with what ever you want to say on it?
HTH
CONGRATULATIONS!
You could get small picture frames (with space for two pictures) and use a marker or craft glue that says "Double Trouble" or "Thing 1 & Thing 2" or something along those lines.
i had twin boys 8 months ago....i just told my mom on the phone....but maybe a neat card or picture. i dont know, i mainly wanted to say congrats!
I love the idea of two duplicate bibs r something like that...make sure they are exactly the same...when they look puzzled--spill it!
Congratulations ~ I like the Idea of Grandma 'brag books' that K's mom suggested!
OH MY GOSH! I love the Thing 1 and Thing 2 idea!! Congratulations!!!!
I know if you go to Michaels the craft store-although I don't know if you have one out where you live- but they can make the t-shirts or I have even seen them make coffee mug's which will also be cute! What a wonderful surprise! Congrat's! I'm sure that whatever and however you tell them they'll still love it! Good Luck!
P.s. Make sure you have your camcorder on hand! What a great memory that will make!
