I don't know, my children never did the bottle. They went straight from breastfeeding to sippy cup. I would go that route and avoid the bottle if possible.
My son is 1yr and the Dr told us to stop the bottle and switch to Whole milk. He drinks the milk in a sippy during the day, not as much as if it were formula. So the question is do I switch to milk at night first than switch to a sippy cup or other way around. And if they he switches to milk does he need a snack at night and what kind of snack?
Thanks

It can be a tough transition... but not always. I would try to switch to the sippy and milk during the day. If he takes it great!! ! If not, then do the bottle with milk, then once used to it try the sippy. Play the snack by ear. You could give him some veggies... about 1 hr before the milk before bed so he's "full". Good luck.

To ween from the bottle at night you need to give only water in the bottle at night. Soon he will figure out he isn't getting the yummy stuff and won't want the bottle at night anymore. This is what we were told and did and it worked!
Good luck!
My pediatrician said to do one at a time as to not shock my daughter by "taking away" two things at once. It took me a week to switch from formula to milk, adding a little more milk each time. Then it took me another week to get rid of the bottle.
We are in the process of weaning my 1 year old and switching from breast milk to whole milk. I am doing a sippy during the day but a bottle of whole milk when she first wakes up and snuggles with me, and at bedtime. I'll wean her off the bottle completely, but probably not until she's more like 18 months, at the advice of our dr. I know our situations are a bit different (with breastfeeding) but I did want to share anyway. Our doctor did not indicate that there is any big rush to totally eliminate the bottle (people only get in trouble with rotting teeth and such when they leave their baby with a bottle in bed all the time and the milk pools in their mouth). I feel that babies (and 1 year olds are babies!) still sometimes need that sucking as a comfort, you know? Just my thoughts...best wishes!
