Hello! My DH and I are going to be trying for baby #2 starting this month! Last time I found out I was pregnant I was SO excited (our first time trying and it worked!)that I just blurted out the news to my DH, mom, friends, etc. This time I want to make it a little more special. Does anyone have ideas on exciting ways to share the news of a pregnancy, especially with my DH and mom? Thanks!

What can I do next?

I always thought it would be cute to put my oldest in a "Big Brother" shirt and take him to his Grandma's house to see how long it would take for people to notice. But, I think any way of letting friends and family know can be special! Best of luck!

We made a shirt for our son using the iron on templates. Then we made plans with the family and had him wear it. It was fun to see how long it took people to realize what it said and their reactions. The front said "I know something you don't know!" and the back said "I'm going to be a big brother!" It was a huge hit. Good Luck and congrats!

I also like the "big brother/big sister" t-shirt idea. I think any way that can incorporate your daughter "telling" the news is cute!

As far as your husband goes, mine was right there with me when I took the pregnancy test! If you don't want to do that, you could wrap up the pregnancy test in a box and give it to him as a gift. (OK, so you're wrapping up something you've peed on, but hey, whatever works.)

I am a hobby photographist and I did the same with both my first and second pregnancies, and I wish I taken the time to find something creative. So for my third child I created a pregnancy announcement. I took a beautiful portrait of our feet on a sandy beach with a red pail and yellow shovel. I turned the picture black and white and kept the shovel and pail colored. It announced that we were adding two more feet to our home... (I chose to use our feet so that I could include an image of our 2nd child's feet at the bottom, he was stillborn and I did not want to leave him out). E-mail me for more ideas, I'd be happy to help you come up with a template of some ____@____.com

When we told our family that we were expecting #2, I brought along some photos of my oldest child to show everyone. In the middle of pictures of our oldest child, I put in a picture of our 1st ultrasound of our baby (which was taken at about 6 weeks). It was so fun watching their reactions as they discovered the picture of the ultrasound. The big brother/sister tshirts are always fun too.
