A cookie tin---old style! It will keep them from getting crushed also.
I'm sending my daddy some rice crispy treats from Texas to Tennessee. I don't want them to get stale and I also don't want them to get moldy. Any ideas?

Our sons favorite treat is Rice Krispy Treats and they are included in each care package that we mail to Irag!!! I cut it into single serving pieces and wrap each piece tightly in saran wrap. I then put 3 or 4 pieces into a plastic ziploc bag and pull as much air out as I can. I then pack them into plastic or metal container and send them on their way!!!
Yep, do what I did........I sent chocolate chip cookies to my BIL in the army to Germany many times..........try to find a metal coffee can, or a metal something.....line it with aluminum foil, put the treats in there...........put the foil over the top of the treats.......put the lid on.........next, seal the lid on with packing tape.....it's a bear to get off, but it keeps the cookies fresh.....sealed in tight.............then put them in a box, and ship them........I did shipping for like 3 days or so......but one time it took over a week.........and he said they were warm and just like they came out of the oven......he had to fight off his friends because they could smell them..........
I don't think the foil will hurt the treats.......so you should be fine......if it gets too hot, it might melt the marshmallow, but then he could have a rice crispy cake!!! You can't avoid it getting hot in the summer......so good luck..........let me know if they arrive in good condition!
Take care.....and you're a good daughter!
I certainly don't think they'll get moldy in just a few days! I would get some of those ziplock/glad containers and arrange them in there and seal it shut. You could add some Press-n-Seal on top if you like (I LOVE that stuff) but they will probably stay just fine inside the box. Put that inside a bigger box and ship! I think the post office has good rates on their flat rate shipping boxes.
Just pack them in a ziplock with as much air removed as possible. put in a box and mail... In a few days they won't get moldy or stale.
