Nothing works. He's still a puppy. And big dogs can be puppies for at least 2 years! My daughter's golden retirevers eat mulch, rocks, and rip out chunks of sod! That's just life with dogs!
Do you have to have mulch? lol
Guess the title says it all! He's driving me NUTS. He's our new dog, 11 months old. And it's a multiple time a day hassle. He grabs mouthfuls and runs, continuously! Is there something I can sprinkle over it to keep him out of it? He's trashing our landscape!

Cayenne pepper.
Or use a different mulch.

we have the ball for our dog and it works well, just make sure the ball and the bowl sizes work correctly.
oh my!!! i'm going nuts!! I thought the title said how to keep him from eating your LUNCH!!! OH MY!!!
Our puppy, now a little over a year old, ate the mulch too...kinda like a kid - if you make a stink over it - he will continue doing it...
I don't know if there's anything you can sprinkle over it...we just ignored him and when he stopped getting attention from it - he lost interest.
can you keep the water hose handy :)
Can you somehow startle him when he goes at it? Like throw a Coke can filled with some pennies his way?
As someone else said, sprinkle the mulch with cayenne pepper... it does a great job of keeping animals out of the gardens!
Is he getting enough exercise? Does he have toys with which to play?
I think if you put some straight ammonia in a spray bottle and spray the mulch it will keep him away......The cayenne pepper sounds good too.
Have your tried hot pepper?
