I want to take the bumper away b/c it prob harbors dust mites that my son is allergic to but without it, the pacifiers just all tumble out of the crib as my son tosses and turns. Any advice on how to keep the little suckers in?? Thanks!

What can I do next?

You can buy a mesh bumper that will help keep the paci in but not harbor dust mites. Similar to this:

Aside from the mash bumper, you might try those clips that keep pacifiers on clothes. The string should be short enough not to present a choking/strangulation hazard, though. Clip it as far down on his torso as will allow to still get the paci in his mouth.

I used a crib tent from Babies R Us. It's like a large mesh bumper that goes all the way around and over the crib.

The bumper serves a greater purpose than keeping the paci in! Maybe just wash it in an allergen free detergent every couple days. Or buy an allergen reducing one online.

Bumpers are bad for so many reasons. They provide a real danger to little ones.
They do make mesh bumpers. You can get them at Babies R Us (or at least you could a few years ago). I would bet that Target has them too. They're easy enough to take off and toss in the wash too.
