This is the first time that I've had marble floors, and I was wondering how ya'll keep them shiny. I clean them, but I can't seem to get the same luster from when they were first put down. Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

My friend and her mother own a janitoral service so they deal with marble floors all the time, and suggested to me to use regular vinger and mix with a little water to dulite it, so you won't get streaks when mopping. I tried it on my marble floors in the bathroom and it seemed to make them clean and shiney. I did notice the difference, so you may want to try it.

I had marble floors when I moved in and I hate them! If I could afford to rip them out I would. They are a major pain to keep up with. Don't do much of anything to them. Dust with a dry swiffer mop, lightly damp mop with water only. Do not use any cleaners. Marble is a soft stone, so it damages easily.

Try the WD-40 and if that doesn't work try Marblex... you can find them on line. It's expensive.

We have new marble floors too, and the installer said just to use water to clean them - but I really don't think that's going to be enough... so I hope someone gives you a better answer than that.

J.,
Please share this information with me if you get an answer; I too seemed to have lost the luster on my marble! I guess I assumed that nothing could be done with it (was in place when we moved into this home). Had we installed it, at least I could ask the installers what to do. Anyway, I appreciate you asking the question, and hope you are willing to share the answer if there is one :)
