How to Get Sand Off/clean-up Easily After Sandbox Time?

My boys have a new sandbox and I want them to enjoy it, but I"m struggling! first we do sunscreen and then they go play. The sunscreen is the perfect magnet for sand and their whole body is soon covered. How do i get it off before they come indoors and keep it out of my house the best way? I tried hosing them off, which helps, but it doesn't get it out of the crevices like their necks, etc. Hoping someone else has dealt with this more intelligently than I have been the last few days!!
Thanks

What can I do next?

Baby powder is my best friend when the kids play in the sandbox. But as others have said, do it outside and from behind the kids so it doesn't get inhaled. I usually put it in my hands and then rub their hands, legs or feet to minimize the powder cloud.

Baby powder! I used to keep it in my purse when we lived in CA. We never knew when we would just go to the beach to watch the sunset or in the winter for a walk.

Try make sure the suncreen is completely dried before letting you child play in the sand. I would usually apply it before leaving for the beach so it had time to soak in. They after play, I would brush off as much sand as I could with my hand, then out came the baby powder! Sprinkle it on and just brush off. The sand will come right off!

Good luck!

Even if you did not put sunscreen on them, the sand would stick. Because, little boys get sweaty.
I have a little boy.
He gets so sweaty when playing outside.

There are sunscreens, that are not as 'greasy.'
So look for those.
One brand is "Ocean Potion." Our local CVS store has it. Or look online to read about it. It dries fast, is a lotion, and is not greasy feeling nor sticky. For example.

Yes, as CM said below, get a sun canopy for over their sandbox.

Put the sandbox under a sunproof canopy. That way you can avoid the sunblock.

Would they stay in the sandbox under a canopy to eliminate the need for sunscreen? Years ago we would go to the beach and the house had an outdoor shower-it was wonderful!

My kids don't like sand, they want to dig in REAL dirt... I ended up having to have them just wash in a tub in the mud room then come in.

I was also going to suggest baby powder, but be sure to do it outside. Obviously, it makes a mess, but it's not good to breathe in too much of it either.

My DD is only one, so I carry her into the bathtub and spray her down with the showerhead.

For your boys, if they are older, you could also get a small handheld broom to sweep them off with. That gets the bulk of it off my DD... but I have to completely wash her down to get all of it. lol. I am going to try the baby powder thing!
