I know a a bowl of vinegar will absorb smoke smells. You could try that.
We painted our toddler's room last thursday using low-toxic paint. We've left the window open with the fan on each day and used a cut-up onion in the room (to absorb odors) to get rid of the fresh paint smell. Almost a week later, the smell is faint, but still detectable. Is there anything else we can do to get rid of it, or we are stuck waiting it out until we can't smell it anymore? What if anything has worked for you? Thanks.

Plates of ground coffee beans helped when our dog was skunked.

This won't help you now but next time you paint, add some vanilla extract to the paint. That will help with the smell.
Buy a bunch of those fridge-made boxes of baking soda and place them in each corner of the room. Im actually in the process of painting my toddlers room too and I am just happy that the weather is nice enough to allow me to leave the windows open
Good Luck
Coffee beans/grounds.
Baking soda (sprinkle the carpet, leave, vacuum)
Live potted plants.
I'd try all three. Coffee is a fabulous odor absorber, and so is baking soda. Set the coffee on an open plate or dish, sprinkle the soda and later vacuum (to remove the scent with it), and the potted plants take CO2 from the air and MAKE fresh Oxygen... so they create fresh air. :)
we use bowls of vinegar....works every time!
Leaving the windows open for days. There a plants that help with the fumes too. Just not sure which ones besides a spider plant.
