How to Get Rid of Gnats??

We were gone for about 3 months this summer, and now that we're back home, we have gnats in the kitchen. I've scrubbed everything in the kitchen, but they are still here. I have no clue how to get rid of them. My husband suggested a sticky fly trap, but I don't know that will prevent them from coming back. I want to get rid of them for good! Do you know anything that will be safe to use (I'm pregnant and I have a 2 y/o)?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks! I'll definitely try the vinegar and soap! I already poured bleach down the sink, but I'll keep it up for a few days and hopefully they'll be gone soon!

use one cup vinegar with a squirt of dish soap and a splash of water..put in glass bowl and leave near kitchen sink. in a couple of days they will collect in bowl and ta da be gone! im not sure why this works but it does! also i was told by our terminix guy that they live in the disposal so to pour bleach down the sink, let sit ten min. then run warm water and disposal at the same time! good luck!

Vinegar is good. I agree. Also, I pour bleach down the drains and keep all bananas in the bread box. We put up a fly trap above the bananas, and it got tons of them!

This is going to sound silly, but get a big jug of red hawaian punch. Poor it into 2 or 3 8+ ounce cups, and sit them out near where the gnats hang out. The gnats will fly into the juice and drown themselves. Once you have done this a few days they will all be gone! I hope this helps!!!

PS You gan get a hug jug of punch from Walmart for about $2

I second the vinegar and dish soap. I had gnats 3 weeks ago after some banana's went bad. I tried the vinegar and dish soap and they were gone within a couple of days!
