You could try the Oxy Clean pre-treater spray. I have gotten some really tough stains out with that stuff. Good luck!
I thought I would ask. After awhile my shirts get a yellow stain under the armpit. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get them clean. Thanks
There are lots of prewash products in the market, some suggest to use Spray-n-Wash on the armpits of the shirts, some suggest to use vinegar. It helps, but over time they still get yellowish, so the best way is to replace your shirt when it looks old.

Hi J.,
I always had the same problem since moving to NM. I don't know if it was the hard water, deodorant, or if I just have gross armpits (he, he), but it ruined a bunch of my very favorite shirts after a few years (I'd never heard the aspirin trick!)
About 8 years ago, a friend turned me on to "Mrs. Stewart's Liquid Bluing." (I get it at Albertson's, Smith's, and I think Wal-Mart carries it - in the laundry sect.) It's hard to find. They usually hide it on the top shelf near the stain-removal products: little, blue bottle.
I put it in all my white washloads. The directions say to pre-mix it in a jug and add it to the wash, but I got sick of that. Now, I just squirt some (a Tbls or 2, depending on load-size) in the stream of water as the washer is filling, *before* I add my whites. It workes in all water temps. (I never use hot).
If you spill it on clothes, it will take 3 or 4 washes to get out.
I have had zero pit-stains ever since. It's cheap, and one bottle (with 2 kids) lasts 7 or 8 months.
You can also use it to grow a crystal-garden: fun project for kids!
Good luck erasing your stains!

Try soaking them in white vinegar. That usually removes underarm stains
Hi J.,
This may sound silly but...... the guy that co-host with Tim Allen on Home improvement. Gives tips and one of his tips was specifically what you request is, He said to add Aspirin (yes, Aspirin, a few tablets) to the wash and it should remove the stain. I have not personally doen this for this reason but have added the apsirin to the whites and socks and it sure whitened them up. My sister's husband has this problem and she does this to his shirts and she swears by this.
Best of Luck!!!

Getting stains out is simple and easy. Plus it's free. Just put the stain in the sun. The sun is a natural bleaching agent. It is amazing. You can either put it out wet or dry. I think wet works faster but either way you'll be surprised.
In the "Queen of Clean's" first book, I believe, there is a solution to yellow armpit stains on clothing - for certain. I have never tried it, but I bet it would work.
Are you wearing any anti-perspirant/deodorant or just deodorant ? I personally think we all need to wear deodorant, but if the problem of yellowing stains persists for you, perhaps try anti-perspirant/deodorant. That may help too.
Have you googled this at all? I hear differing opinions as to whether it's the perspiration itself or the underarm product (deodorant or antiperspirant/deodorant)that causes the yellowing.
use vinegar. it has multiple uses for the home. I am not at my computer today but when i get back i will send you the link for the uses of vinegar or you can google it yourself. have a nice day!!!
Hi J.:)
I have noticed the same thing, and I use Spray-n-Wash on the armpits of my shirts. It helps, but over time they still get yellowish. Sorry I couldn't help more. Maybe the queen of clean has some good advise?

Could it be your deodorant causing the staining?
Hi J. -
The yellow stains are caused by the chemical reaction between the deodorant/antiperspirant and your sweat. The only way to stop the stains is to change to a natural deodorant.
As far as removing the stains, sometimes those Oxy cleansers are effective.

If it's whites drop a tablet of aspirin in your wash. I read this in Lucky magazine and it really works.
I had the same problem and assumed it was my anti-perspirant. I was using a clear gel, then I switched to a solid, and haven't had the problem since then. Sorry, I have no idea how to get rid of the stains once they are on the shirt.
