Wash from the bottom up being careful not to let drips run down over what you have just cleaned.

Good morning everyone,
I was wondering if anyone out there has a good treatment for smudges and more so, the water streaks left after trying to clean them off the walls. This is a problem I have been trying to more effectively solve for over a year. We have good quality, Sherwin Williams Cashmere paint. it is not flat but it is an eggshell finish. I have used Pine Sol and water and wiped the areas dry but I can still see a giant swoosh up the walls where I cleaned. There are now handprints all over the hallways that I need to remove. What works to remove them and how do I get rid of the water streaks. I really hate the expense and effort of repainting again. Thanks

I've often used Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It is amazing! It works great on white walls and light colored walls.
You mentioned your walls are eggshell, so if you want to try it be careful. Maybe try a small area that is in an area that people wouldn't usually see, just in case. We have not repainted the interior of our house, so I'm not sure what type of paint was used (my husband would know). Some of our walls are darker colors, and I've never had the eraser take the paint of or even lighten it. But it does carry that warning on the package.
you don't have to repaint, you just need to touch-up smudges and scratches. I never clean walls, I touch up every 3-6 months.
MR. CLEAN Magic Eraser!!!
Magic eraser is my best friend!
I just Googled and everything I see says to use a mild soap and water and a very soft towel. I think the key is to not get the stained area soaking wet.
Try Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. They work wonders on walls and baseboards. It will look like you painted!
Another vote for Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Try to find the "strong" one. The other ones shred easily, but they still work well.
