I just had the Mirena IUC put in a few months ago because we decided to not have anymore children. I had Hypermeses Gravarius (sp?) Morning sickness gone Very BAD! We were worried I would be that sick again.

I really want another baby...I got my hubby to agree to one more. Woo! Hoo!

My question is this...how long did it take you to get pregnant after having the Mirena removed?

I would appriciate responses on the question...NOT your opinion of birth control! It is my body and if I choose to use BC it is my choice. Thank you.

I had a Mirena from the time my son was 6 wks old until he was about 2 1/2 yrs. I had it taken out in June, bled for about 10 days, then was able to get pregnant on July 1st (2005, not 4 days ago). It was really interesting to calculate my ovulation times, basal body temp, etc. It wasn't that I had any difficulty getting pregnant either time, I just wanted to be more educated about how my body works (especially after having the IUD and not knowing what to expect).

And, I had 2 totally opposite pregnancies, so they are all different.

Good Luck.

And - for the record, I loved my Mirena and would get another, I just haven't gotten around to it, EVEN THOUGH my husband has had a vasectomy and we have no risk of getting pregnant(this is husband #2, BTW, and he had his snip done 20 yrs ago - so no talk about failed vasectomies, etc.). It was really nice to have the other benefits of the Mirena - no period, etc.

3 months the first time, then the next time, I actually got pregnant while the IUD was still in! I also had Hyperemesis, and just because you have it once, that does not mean you will have it again. Each pregnancy is different. I'd also recommend talking to your Doc about Zofran, or other anti-nausea medications.

Don't worry about the HG. I had it the first time around (lost 15 lbs by 9 weeks), but this pregnancy has been great. I also second the Zofran. It is a drug used for chemotherapy patients for nausea and it worked wonders. I don't know about the IUD other than I've looked into it for after I have this baby and from everything I read, you should be able to get pregnant right after it is removed.

Good luck!
