How Much Would You Pay For... - Richmond,VA

5 used, complete 'Little People' sets?

What about 4 used, complete 'Peek a block' sets?

They're pretty pricey brand new, and some of the stuff I have has been discontinued. I've had these things up on craigslist for a few days and haven't gotten any interest (which is super weird, I always sell within a few days on there).

Before I tell you where I priced these things, how much would you pay/charge for these things? I'm not trying to separate the sets, I'd like to keep all the little people and all the peek a blocks together... (in my experience, selling in bulk works far better than selling individual sets).

I'm NOT trying to sell this stuff on here, I'm asking (please) for suggestions as to how to price this stuff on craigs :)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I did look into what they're selling for, and a lot of ebay was going almost full price; craiglist, about $10-20 per set...

I bought a ton of little people sets from a friend for $25. It had the enitre alphabet zoo, the railroad, a school bus, a van, playground, and a whole bin of people and accessories.
The peek a blocks are quickly outgrown so I probably wouldn't pay more than $15 for the set on craigslist.
The little people can be enjoyed for years and years, so they are worth more to me.

I went to a garage sale not too long ago and the gal had just a few pieces out...like a 4 seater car (littel tikes actually) and a half dozen little people. LP are a huge thing for my home daycare and something I always look for at sales. I commented that my kids were going to love the car as I have another and its alwasy fought over. I love having multiples of all things.

She said, very hesitantly, that she had more LP stuff but it was very dirty, blah blah. I think she was a bit horrified as to their condition. I pushed and finally she pulled this big tote out from behind "the garage sale curtain" in her garage. The MotherLoad! But they were gross. I was not daunted..they usually come very clean.

There was a princess/royal thing...a carnival, a school house, a zoo train, ( all smaller pieces)...a large noisy farm and losts of small pieces and all the animals, etc..then alot of random pieces for all. It was an overflowing large tote of things and I paid $20 for all of it..dirt, even some mold on the princess garden piece...and all. It all came perfectly clean and I only had to toss one of the LP as her hand had been chewed on and was sharp.

Thats as much as I would have paid for it. It took a while to clean, disinfect and to let it all dry all over my kitchen and dining room surfaces..but we love it all! I took a picture of it all and posted on my FB for my daycare gal pals...JEALOUS, they were!! LOL

I went to a resale shop and bought some sets between $8-$15 each.

I sold sets between $5-$15.

I wouldn't pay more than $15 a set. (Assuming the $15 was a large set, like say the house or something like that)

Not sure about the peek a block sets....

I will often search for toys between $1 and $15/$20. And when on Craigslist, I search "photo" so that I only get results with a photo. As for your specific toys, I am not sure. I never bought those toys. So perhaps re-phrase your title to contain something like "toddler toys". Don't give up. Christmas is coming soon, so keep your stuff on there for a while.

The Little People sets-- probably between $5-$10 per set, depending on the condition and size, number of pieces, etc.

No experience with Peek A Blocks.

Great time to be selling toys for the holidays. Good luck!

I bought the little people road set at a garage sale for $4. It had all the cars and the people.
I bought the little people circus set for $5 at a garage sale.
I think it would be easier to sell each set for a set price. It's funny, but I am cheap and usually will find what I am looking for at the price I want to pay. I think if you have a set for more than $8 I wouldn't buy it.

i think seeing what they are going for on Ebay is the best bet. See what people are bidding and what the common is. I think they sometimes use an alter to bid up the price so look for similar bid prices.

If you are trying to sell them locally them you might take into consideration how the economy in your area is. A big city usually has more people with money where a smaller town might not have much extra spending money in it.

I think if you are selling as a set of 5, I'd be willing to pay $40 TOPS, but closer to $30 (we all like a bargain). Set of 4 - no more than $25, but prefer $20. As a passive looker - could do with em or without em, $15 for the 5 and $10 for 4.
Eye of the beholder and EVERYONE is looking for a good deal these days. Smart to poll a bunch of moms - your target market - LOL!
