I'd tip the same way I would if I went to her salon. 20% ($5). SINCE she is coming to me... I take into consideration the travel time and gas so I would tip an extra on top of that. Total tip... $10
She is providing a service.
I am having a lady come to my home for a haircut for myself and for my almost 2 year old son next week. I am really excited to not have to drag my son with me to the salon only to have to sit strapped to a chair while my hair is being done and also that I can help a fellow Army wife out. She is licensed and will only be charging me $25 for both of the cuts! I was wondering . . . what sounds like a fair tip for her? She will be traveling to my home (a very short drive), and her pricing would be the same regardless of whether I went to her or she comes to me, so I am thinking I should give a little extra. what do you think sounds like a fair tip amount?
PS- this is not a woman I am friends with, but someone I found through an ad (if it makes a difference)

If you are happy with the cuts, then I would probably give a little more...probably at least $10.
I usually do 20% in the salon, but since she's coming to you there's gas to figure in. I'd do $10.
I would tip 20%, and then considerations for her time driving and gas. Since I"m saving so much money, time, and hassle...I'd personally give a good tip. Probably $15. I'm sure most don't expect more then 20%, though.
I usually tip $2 per person so I would tip her $4, or $5 max.

I would probably tip about 20% if you are happy with both cuts
I would probably tip at least $10 since she is making the housecall. $25 is a steal for two cuts where I live...if it is in your area too, perhaps even tip higher if she does a good job.
$10.00 TIP! House Call.
I think 10 would be nice
20% percent, as you would in a salon or a restaurant.
if its a random person you found in an ad then she has already figured in the cost of driving to you. I would tip the same as you would tip at a salon. So for me a $25 cost would equal a $5 tip.
20% is baseline, but since she is doing 2 cuts for $25, I would tip her at least $10.
I vote $10.
20% for the tip based on cost, and then an extra $5 for the added convenience of her coming to your house (you don't have to deal with the 2 yr old somewhere else, OR drive anywhere). Total = $10.
I'd say $5, but being just before Thanksgiving, I tend to tip a little more, so maybe $10 if you can afford the extra. :)
