Hi Moms,
I am a 1st time mom here and wondering how much I should be feeding my 10 month old. I think I'm feeding him enough but not 100% sure on that. I make his food and refer to the wholesome baby food web site quite often. How much do you feed your little ones?
Thanks!
M.

IMO, breastmilk or formula should be the primary source of nutrition til age 12 months. Solids before that part are just for experimenation and trying different tastes out. I would not be concerned with how much at this point, since he should be getting plenty from his bottles. Just let him try different foods and have fun with it.

I think the feeding charts are a good starting point, but every baby is different. My pediatrician says that you can't overfeed a baby, and I just keep the food coming until my little guy (14 months) loses interest.

Each child is different and if your child is hungry I am sure they will let you know. You have goo instincts just let them be your guide.

I have a handy chart that shows how much formula is needed at each age. For 9-12 month babies, it says 24 oz./day (three 8 oz. bottles). Then the rest of his nutrition could come from food, but make sure he still gets that formula. I learned with my first, try to encourage a WIDE variety of food b/c I didn't and now I have a picky eater at age 3!
