I live in FM and for a 9 month old I would pay between 5-8 hour. You need to message me Im interested in Shaklee. Thanks, H.
I stay at home with my son in Flower Mound, so I don't normally need a babysitter. I recently hired one, and when talking to other moms, I think I overpaid!! I want to pay what is fair, but I'd love to pay less if I can. I would appreciate your experience. Please let me know if calculating fees is a science, or what?!
Thank you so much for your responses. Your advice on an hourly rate was very helpful. I think I will communicate an hourly rate, so if things change and I come home early, I can pay for that time only (I had quoted a rate for the day and ended up coming home 3 hours earlier!).

Boy, times have changed! When I was babysitting as a teenager, I got $1 per kid per hour. Of course that 15-20 years ago!!!! With those rates, I'm glad I have my parents nearby!
$10/hour is pretty standard unless you hire a teenager. I'm also in Flower Mound and have never paid less than that.
R.,
I have been babysitting for 14 years. I babysit almost every fri, sat, and sun. I am 24, an assistant director in child, cpr/first aid and shaken baby syndrome certified. Usually for one child I charge between 8-10. Depends is the child sleeping most of the time etc. I keep a website up for availabilites for my families (I have about 6 that I regularly babysit for)etc..
A babysitter yes is there to make extra money but the main reason should be because they love to be with them!
we were told that the going rate is $8-$10/hour.
