My son is in a daycare with a preschool program. We pay $2.50/day for lunch and can pick what/how many days we want. We also get snacks included. I don't know that it is organic but nothing is fried and they are balanced.
What is a reasonable price (for the 9-month academic year) for your preschooler to have hot lunch at preschool 3 days a week?
It's hot, catered, and organic/local food, nutritionally balanced.
Give me your total for the year if you can.
Thanks!
(It's $300 a year and I think I'll sign my child up at his school. I just wanted to check if this is reasonable. For such quality, healthy food, I think so.)

That comes out to around $2.75 per meal, right? Does that sound fair to you?
That's all that matters. I probably wouldn't pay it for my daughter, depending upon what exactly they served. She was super super picky at that age, and might not have eaten it. And that is pricey if your child doesn't eat it. But if you are confident your child will eat what they serve, and it is within your budget....
The elementary school lunch at my kid's school costs around $1.75, and it isn't organic or particularly healthy (in my opinion...).
thats cheap and good priced. my daughters school is 2.00 a day for lunch. she is in state preschool and gets free lunch though. i wish they fed them food like that. she only eats it a couple days a week when its something she wants.
Our child's school hot lunches cost $2.50 a pop so that would be $30/month for three days each week and $300 a year. And they aren't organic or healthy, so you're definitely getting a bargain there.
My sister pays 5 bucks per meal for a meal like that. Actually the other moms do - she packs most of the time due to the price.
A crappy school lunch at my sons school is 1.70 per meal.
Thus your seems about right if you child will eat it.
Are you putting together such a program? If so, I suggest you figure how much it would actually cost. Cost of ingredients as well as cost of labor and equipment and cost of transportation to deliver it.
I know of no such program. I think the kindergarten school hot lunch is $2.40 per day. And.......there is no comparison between the lunch you're describing and the school's hot lunch.
Sounds like a bargain! Hot lunch for my kids, which is decent but not local or organic, is $2.50 per meal. If they bought three times per week for the 40-week school year, that would be $300.
I think you are getting a great deal if its balanced/organic as you say. For that quality, I would have paid over $350.
You mist be teasing! There IS no such school lunch! LOL
Considering pre-schoolers eat about 4 tablespoons of food, I'm thinking $3 day max, so $324?
