My 11 mo. old daughter poops 4x per day, on average. Is this normal? I just worry if there is a digestive issue that could cause this, or if it's just how her body is. I feed her normal finger foods...toast, bananas, grapes, meat, etc. Everything is in moderation. I still nurse a couple times per day, but she drinks formula (Gentlease) for meals.
We seemed to go through a phase where there were multiple poops per day (around 13 months) and then dropped to one poop per day and have stayed there (now 23 months old)

Bulk in - bulk out. We should really ideally go for every meal we have. I think the issue is whether or not your child is uncomfortable or experiencing lots of gas and diarrhea. If they aren't, then I wouldn't worry about it. If they are, then you may need to watch fiber, increase liquid intake, watch for sensitivities/allergies or switch formula.

Hi T. Call your daughter's peditrican and see what he/see says about her bowels moving 4x a day.
more important than how many times is the consistency of them (solid, hard as a rock, or loose and runny) and the smell (like rotten fruit? Just poopy smelling?).
If it's oh, my this sounds so gross, normal and smells like regualar old poop and looks like smashed up normal poop, then it's nothing to worry about. If it's wrong in smell, texture or sight (white instead of brown) then talk to your doctor.
My daughter had white, fruity smelling bm's for the longest time and the doctors were very concerned.
My 14month old has always pooped alot. If 4 aday is normal for her then don't worry about it. My boy poops 4-5 times a day. When we worried was when he pooped every diaper. Her had like 20 poops for a few days. Believe me we looked for anything that could bind him up.
my son at that age pooped up to 7 times a day....the Dr said its fine as long as he's not losing weight, not dehydrated, drinks plenty of fluids, and the consistency of the poop is normal not loose or hard......now he's 5 and is very healthy....hope this helps
