I normally charge 2 to 3 dollars per child to babysit. So that is what you should pay in my opinion. HAve a good night out!!!!!!
I know its kind of an akward question but, how much do you all pay a sitter per hour when you go out? It has been so long since we had to pay for a sitter, we have always just used family. But wanted to get one for a few hours on St Pattys day and are tottaly in the dark of the going rates.

well 1st is this a teen in your neighborhood? if so for 2 kisd adn 1 of the 2 are potty trained i would not say more then 3 or 4 and hour...
if this is an adult like over the age of 18 i would say about 5. but that is what i pay my sitters i hope you find the answer you are looking for
I have a 10 month old daughter and I pay pretty well because I want to keep the sitter and her not turn me down because I don't pay well enough. She is 15 years old. I think the least amount I would pay her is $20 just for the time she takes out of her schedule for me even if it is just a couple of hours. If we go out longer or she has to feed her more than once I pay about $35-$50 so about $7-$10 per hour.
hi A., W. again. I forgot to add something, the charge is for each child. I offer child care services in the evenings and on the weekends to parents even if they are not fulltime in my daycare. And to parents if they have errands to run. i know how it is to get things accomplished with the kids its almost impossible.
the service I use charges about $5 for children under 3 and $4 for children over per child and per hour, plus snacks and stuff.
The sitter in our area that stays in our house is a flat minimum wage an hour but we usually are here, and she does other stuff too.
I wouldn't offer anything to family members unless you know gas is an issue. But I wouldn't offer anyone else less than minimum wage.
I think you have to base how much you pay on your kids (high/low maintenance) and how well the sitter does with them. I have one 4 year old, and he's easy to get along with and very obedient. If I'm only out for a couple hours I usually give 15 or 20, if I'm out longer I think about what I would have expected at that age. If you have a good sitter that you can really depend on, you want him/her to want to watch your kids again, so you have to make it worth their while. I know when I wasn't paid well when I babysat, I rarely went back to that house unless I really liked their kids. Good luck!
We have just one son, age 4. If it's a neighbor girl who's in jr. high or high school, then I usually give her like 20 for the night, which might be 5-6 hours. They seem happy with that. My cousin is in college and I pay her $5 an hour. With 2 kids, I'd say at least $5 an hour. Just ask your sitter what she charges and maybe she'll have a set price.
I pay a daytime sitter $10 for one child and $12 for two with a two hour minimum.
I utilize one of my sons daycare teachers. She has babysat for him in our home when we go out since he was 6 months. I pay her $7-10 (closer to 10 the later in the night we get home).
I take my kids to Kidz Kabana in Lee's Summit, it's an hourly daycare and their open extended (non-traditional) hours for when parents have appointments or want a date night, etc...
You can view their charges on their website www.kidzkabana.com
They are pretty reasonable in my opinion, cheaper than some babysitters had quoted me even! For both of my kids it's $8.50 total per hour (actually even a little less than that because I prepay for their care which gives you more of a discount).
I worked for a sitter service and got paid around 10 an hour. But I own my own I charge depending on how many children. I charge normally around 6 for one child 7 for two. I've never charged over 8 an hour though. I don't think babysitters should be outrageous in charges because most parents can't afford 10 dollars an hour unless its just a couple hours. Have fun!!
I do evening babysitting and I charge $10 per hour. I also work for a nanny service and I get paid $10 per hour with a 4 hour minimum.
for me to work I pay my sitter $5 an hr but for date nights and such I pay her $8 an hr, but she fixes food and uses her food and diapers and wipes on my dd since her dd adn my dd are in the same size and eat almost the same things. I have a 15 yr old that we use sometimes and since we have to take her home and pick her up we pay $5-6 an hr, depending on what time we will be back. if it's a late nite 6 b/c she'll go to sleep here
A.,
I have a licensed home daycare and offer parents night out. I charge $15.00 for the evening, usually between 6:00 PM and 11:30 PM, per child. I also offer a $5.00 discount if a parent has multiple children. As the mother of 4, I find some of the prices around here rediculous and figure parents need a break once in a while.
Well, I have a sitter who I have had for over a year now. I wanted one who was dependable, and would come every Friday. I got her when I was living in Norman, (she is a college student) and now she drives to Moore. Because she is so good, I pay her $7.00 an hour. I have two girls, 7 and 9 and she really doesn't have to do alot... so I am not sure what one would charge for an infant.
Good Luck with finding a sitter!
