I don't know of anyone. My hubby got snipped when daughter was about 2 and I continued on the pill to make sure we did not have an accident.

I was only 100% comfortable and free after I got my hysterectomy .. I've never felt better!

My Husband V took close to a YEAR to show the all clear....do I still worry, on occasion.....I have heard many stories about babies after the fact, my BFF in HS was one. I have considered having my tubes tied as a extra preventive measure.

It is just not reliable.
Don't bank on it.

Not me, but my sister's friend had that happen! You are supposed to wait 6-8 weeks after the procedure and it should be pretty reliable.

True story: In my clinic 7 years ago I heard the Dr across the hall trying to calm an irate couple down who had come in for a pregnancy test. The woman had had a tubal ligation (tubes tied) and the man had had a vasectomy and they were indeed expecting a baby. Nothing is 100%. Do your research and consider how much risk of pregnancy and side effects from surgery you are willing to assume. Sometimes permanent contraception is still the best option. Nurse-midwife Mom
