HI J.. Are you asking because you want to get married when your divorce is final? I am NOT trying to offend you, but only to be honest. You have asked several questions about how to get over your divorce to mamapedia moms. The same question, over and over, and on two different profiles! If your divorce is this traumatic then you owe it to yourself AND your kids to WAIT to get married. Like another poster said....at least a year. A year is NOT a long time to wait.
It's totally fine to ask these questions on mamapedia, that's what it's for! :) Keep asking all the questions you want but PLEASE......go to counseling.
If you want to get married again, you need to heal first, otherwise you will most likely have a repeat of your first marriage.

FIrst of all, I do not mean to come across rudely in any way. What is right for one person is not for another. This is simply a point of view from being a child of divorce.

I don't know any laws regarding this, however, I would steer clear of another marriage for at least a year to clear my head and make sure I was on a healthy track. MOST especially if children are involved. One BIG thing my husband has always told me (as well as financial officers) is to never make a big decision for at least a year when you go through something so stressful as a death of a spouse, divorce, etc. You need to clear your head.

My husband and I both come from split families and it is not fun growing up when mom (or dad) keeps marrying, divorcing, marrying throughout the life of their children instead of making the children the #1 priority. Needless to say, his parents are dead now, I have no relationship with mine.

We've managed keep our marriage together over 20 yrs. We just think back to our childhood and it is easy to overcome any issues we have at the moment.

Whatever you choose, I hope you think clearly and have success.

see if you can find a website for your county clerk. That is probably a FAQ. If not, call them. I am pretty sure you should be able to get married as soon as the stamp hits the paper, or possibly wait for the document to get filed.

In the mean while, I found this site:

http://www.window.state.tx.us/up/

Enter your name and see if you have left any money behind from an old job, apartment, or utility.

Best of luck.

I agee, I would take my time. No reason to rush esp since you have your entire life ahead of you.Sorry, Just my 2 cents.I know we should do what makes us happy cause if mommy is happy kids are typically happy but we also need to put our children first and think what is in child's Best Interest. Unfortunately I have been through 2 broken marriages. The 1st one I was married for 6 yrs and I waited 12 yrs to get remarried which the 2nd one was a disaster from the beginnibg to end. We were only legally married 1 year and 7 months but only together for 3 months. We were separated 3 months after we got married, he was def Not the one. I have been divorced for 4 yrs and only briefly dating 1 guy for nearly 3 months which never met my boys. I have no plans on dating in the near future but it's up to what is in Gods plan. In the eyes of the laws I believe it's 90 days just incase any of the parties change their minds and get back together.
It should say on your divorce decree. I hope this helps and the Best of luck to you.

My daughter signed divorce papers last week in Texas. They told her 30 days.
