Buy a visa prepaid card. Yep. It will be Xmas budget, but aside from the budget, it will be a mystery.
That or pay a friend in cash and order on their card.
I have some ideas to get small things and I want to order them online.. he would kinda know when the bill comes?
Just wondering what I could do to actually surprise him!
he picked out his own gift so that way there is no disappointing when opneing the wrong item. I didn't buy the dvds as we probably wouldn't watch them anyway.
I will do visa gift card or something next time though good idea.
Yes he trusts me but still can see bill when it comes and we don't use credit.

Mother-in-law! I put a large present for my SO on her credit card and then paid her back when the bill came....which happend to be after Christmas.
Can you buy a Visa giftcard, and then use it to pay for the online transaction?
One year I went out and bought a prepaid credit card to "hide" the charges until after the holidays. I bought it at the grocery store, so that particular charge wasn't noticed by my hubby. There is a nominal fee for these (I think mine was $3), but it was important to me to surprise him.
I am still in the process of pulling off the biggest surprise I ever have for my husband. I just told him he couldn't look at the account until I said so.
Here's my scenario. I have 5 guys that are taking him to Vegas. I collected the money from everyone, put it in my account and paid my credit card bill with it. Then I bought the tickets, hotel, etc. I changed the password on the credit card account and told him I'd give him the new password (or change it back) after he got his birthday and Christmas presents. This way he can't access the information.
I don't know if that helps, but that's how I did it.
I suggest what Riley J said pre-paid visa card :)
Prepaid or use debit instead of credit. I always say I'm getting hubby something n he leaves it at that. I do the finances so he don't ever see charges anyways.
I pay all the bills, so he would never know.
Can you wait until after the cut off for the credit card so at least the charges won't show up until after you give the gifts?
Having your own personal credit card would be ideal in this case.
I like the idea if someone else is willing to help. Otherwise, I manage the bills and my husband just tells me not to look at the statement right away if it comes. Of course that depends on the billing cycle so you would probably want to check that but it should be fine. I always have it sent to work or a friends house.
money order, but mine has never asked me what I buy why'd I buy it etc. same acct. for 10 yrs
I use my Mom. I have her order it and have it delivered to her. Then I can pay her back after the holidays. It has worked!
I handle the bills in my house so my husband has no idea when I shop :). I don't do it often (because I see the accounts and know what our goals are, but still...).
For instance, I know he went out shopping for me today and I know what store he went to. So I won't look at the card for that account or question any charges on the checking account if he used that.
We know the holiday's are coming and just respect that we both have to shop with the same money and don't get nosey. Now if it was some time in January, I'd ask :).
Beyond did you buy something here we never ask what it was. It could be for me or him but it could be for others in our family.
We know the other is going to buy stuff for the other so we just don't pry.
Since I do the bills, this is the scenario my husband tends to have more than me. Usually, he waits until the billing closeout. Why don't you check the closing date from your last statement (or just pull it up online?) and charge AFTER the bill closing date. The statement will print without showing the newer charges.
