I have a home daycare and lately I have been wanting to try something new? When I look up at home jobs the two main things that pop up are Medical Transcriptionist and Medical Billing. I am checking into the two but I know there must be other options. I am not interested in selling any products or doing anything similar to Amway. I just wondered what some of you do to make extra income for you family that has flexible working hours.
I teach piano out of my home. You don't even need to have a musical background to become a certified Kindermusik teacher. A friend of mine has no music training at all and she did a beautiful job teaching the little ones!

I work in the bakery dept of my local (so close I can walk if I want to) grocery store. I work VERT PT! I work 2-3x (Mon-Fri) from 4-8am and sometimes 1x on the weekend from 5a-12:30p. I make enough to pay for our weekly groceries, and I get an employee discount that rocks! These hours might sound crappy to most but I am a morning person and these hours allow me to get home and get my kids ready for school and out to the bus before hubby has to leave for work. Works really well for us right this minute!
Aside from selling schtuff (art), I'll also teach periodically. Anatomy & Physiology, Bio, MicroBio. For ages 4-7 & 8-12. (I don't teach art, it's too expensive). I've done some one offs (like a Saturday Afternoon Pulmonary thing at the park with balloons for the 4-7 crowd, or the digestive system with slides and a pool & tubes... both & others set up Magic School Bus style of the kids racing through the body)... and I've done some once a week classes for 12 weeks.
I only do those when I'm not in school me'self. When I'm IN school I grant write like kee-razy.
I've also cleaned houses, babysat (never again, or at least not until my own son is grown), and taken on part time work here or there to barter for some of kiddo's activities.
Pretty much, whatever you're good at... someone else isn't or doesn't have time for.
I'm a Pampered Chef Consultant and have been doing it for the last 8 years. I love it but that might be because I love the products and it's easy for me to do one show a week after my husband gets home from work. I generally make at least $150 per show but more often than not, it's more like $200-$250 which isn't bad considering I only work 4-5 hours a week. Doesn't sound like you're interested in sales, so it's probably not for you.
Just want to offer some advice - PLEASE don't get hooked into anything that falls into the category of multi-level marketing or a scam where you're laying out $$ for ANYTHING. Legitimate business opportunities do not ask you to lay out more than maybe $100-$150 start up cost. If you're asked to lay more out, it's probably a scam or at the very least, will be hard to make your $$ back. Do not buy into these "I don't have to sell anything or do anything and I make tons of $$ every week" things. They are scams where you'll be expected to RECRUIT dozens of people who will be expected to either lay out $$ or recruit dozens of people themselves. Get the name of the company you're considering and Google it with the word "scam" after it. Then do your homework!!! Best of luck to you.
