I don't know how to get rid of stretch marks, but I do know how to hide them better. I would recomend one of two things. One, use a self tanner frome Sally's Beauty supply (foam) along with a Jergans glow product at any store.( use the glow lotion everyday. And the second idea is tanning beds! It is bad for the skin, but it does help blemish them a little and helps you look thinner as well. I don;t tan anymore, but I love that self tanner.

It is a waiting game, stretch marks will fade over time, but they will never go away. Stinks I know.

I'm a consultant with a body wrap product. It's an all natural, safe alternative. It helps to tone up your skin. It was originally designed to help with gastric bypass patients & their elasticity. Helps to improve over all appearance. Results do vary though.

T., I am a BeautiControl Professional Skin Care Specialist. I have a product called Microderm-abrasion that works wonders for stretch marks or other scars. You take the creme and the buffer and use it for at least 5 minutes every other day and within 3-4 weeks you will be able to tell a big difference. The microderm abrasion also works for acne scars, lines and wrinkles. A director I know started using it two years ago on her stretch marks. Her daughter is now 5 years old and swears by it. The Microderm-abrasion may not make the scars go completely away but will make a difference and is not a life threatening solution. If you are interested you can call or e-mail me. God Bless

Unfortunately, skin grafting is the only solution. That too creates a trade off with another part of your body. And how many of us will ever go to that extent!!

The only way to partly avoid stretch marks is to manage your pregnancy weight by eating highly nutritious food that is not too high in calories and by walking a lot, so that only your baby gains the majority of your increased weight. Sudden dramatic weight gain creates stretch marks (tears the skin), which go deep into the skin.

Also, if you drank enough water and ate enough foods pre-pregnancy that promote skin elasticity, you would get lesser stretch marks.

I learnt all this too late!

Honey you earned them, they're yours. The time to get rid of them is befor you get them. There are several creams that should be used during pregnacy as the skin is stretching to keep it from breaking down. But some people still get them. I know I did. Terrible, mine looks like a road map and I've had to just except the idea, I would never wear a bikini again. Maybe someone else has an answer. I'd sure like to know it if they do. Hate to burst your bubble.

Unfortunately, from what I have heard and read streatch marks are hereditary. It's not something you can get rid of with a cream or exercise. Unless you can afford surgery, which still does not always get rid of them, my only suggestion is to focus on the other becoming attributes of you and learn to love the whole you and not just the parts you like or don't like.

Hi, I struggle with the same problem but my daughter is 15 now. If your stretch marks are still red they can be laser removed at a plastic surgical office. If they have turned white then there is no reversal procedure that I know of. Good luck to you.

Coco Butter. Use The soap and then the lotion. Worked on all my scares. I have a scar on my stomach from 6 different surergies each time the scar got longer and wider. I used the coco butter everyday not only did it lighten the stretch marks from both my pregencies but my scar is now the same color as my skin. It is still there but less noticeable. Good Luck. C.

Everyone says cocoa butter or mederma. But unless you go to a plastic surgeon your stretch marks are there to stay. They made fade, but will never truly go away. I have 4 kids and trust me I have all the "trophy" marks that came with them still. It's the hard truth and I tried to make it funny, but ...sorry there's no true method for getting rid of them.

When you are done having all your babies see a plastic surgeon - thats what I plan to do. I don't think any of that other stuff really helps get rid of them - and its not your fault you got them - its just one of those things that happens when you have a baby!!!

i dont know how to permanently get rid of them or if you actually can, but i do know that the strivectin cream is the best i have used.. i actually used it after my preg because it is concentrated and says do not use while preg, but after using it i could really tell a difference and i also use it on my face for small wrinkles too. it's supposedly the new cosmetic secret and u can get it at gnc.. that jergens body glow that was mentioned is a great concealer too

I use AVON SuperShape - it fades out the stretch marks and also firms the skin to give it back the "old" elasticity! I'm probably biased because I sell AVON, but I have been using it since about mid-way though my pregnancy with my second child (he's 7 months now), and my marks are barely visable.

There really is no way to get rid of stretch marks. As a new mom myself I understand how you feel. Stretch marks are genetic and there isn't much you can do about it. My mother had them, so I tried every cream, theory, etc while pregnant and I still got them. I even use the lotions that claim to make stretch marks disappear and only ended up with mosturized stretch marked skin. Over time stretch marks will fade and won't be as noticable especially if you tan or preferably fake-tan. Just remember famous moms don't look like they have stretch marks because they have unlimited resources including professional makeup artists. And although your new body may never look like your old body, this one too can be beautiful in a differnt way and you should focus on that.

One of the most simplest and effective home remedy is lemon juice. It contains natural acids that help to deal with stretch marks. These stretch marks fade away quickly with lemon juice.

The only thing I know of that really works is pure vitamin E oil. This oil is very sticky, and so you would only put it on at night. If the stretch marks are on your stomach, I would suggest you buying some cotton briefs and wearing them at night after you put the oil on. It only takes a little oil and you can spread it over the area where the stretch marks are. I found it easier to spread if I put the bottle in a cup of hot water before using it. If you use it every night, you will soon see that the stretch marks are fading. This is also good for any scars, even acne scars on the face, which is what I used it for many years ago after my doctor suggested it.

Hi T.,
There is no real way to get rid of stretch marks without getting some type of laser procedure done. The only thing you can do is rub some vitamin E oil on them to moisturize them and to help them fade. If you keep this up, they will fade to the natural color of your skin and won't be too noticable. I have a 4yr. and a 10mo. old, so I understand how you feel.

Although it may not be the healthiest, tanning helps. It doesn't make the contrast quiet as dramatic. It made me feel better about mine. And the other posters are right about them being genetic. It has to do with the elasticity UNDER the skin, so no cream in the world would help prevent them.

T.,

I have an at home Microderm Abrasion kit that you can use on your face and on your stretch marks. For your face, you will get the same results as you would at the doctor's office (I've had them tell me that!). For your stretch marks, it will help them go away permanently or your money back.

Feel free to email me and I will get you hooked up.

The previous poster is right, not much you can do. However, for most women they do tend to fade over time. Not much consolation I know, but it is what it is.

you need to see a dermatologist. they give prescription retin a cream for post surgery scarring or stretch marks which i would think would be the same for post partum stretch marks. Do not tan if you are using the cream to lessen them. But as with most things..TIME lessens their appearance. And Tanning will make them look smaller when you are darker. but try not to be too harsh.... stretch marks are genetic , so some people will get them anyway and there is nothing yet made to stop them. It really shows how much our appearences mean to us. but i think you should only worry over what is in your control or affects your health. those stretch marks will dimish to barely noticable with time and they represent the best thing that ever happened to you. -mb

they'll fade over time, but they won't really go away. you can try the scar vanishing creams, get surgery or just wait it out and keep your skin hydrated as they fade.

Trilastin SR is the best cream I have tried. I have very sensitive skin and usually only use baby lotion. So far most of the creams that I have tried irritated my skin but not Trilastin SR. It is so clean that within minutes it is completely absorbed into my skin with no oily or smelly residue. I have really bad stretch marks from having three children and I know that the only way to completely get rid of them is surgery but that’s not my thing. All I want is to look like I have normal skin,

There is nothing that can get rid of them except a tummy tuck. They basically cut them out. They will fade a little and not be so bright over time however.
