My sister stays in places like what you are describing. The linens are provided. I think (?) someone else does the laundry at the end, but they clean up when they go.
A relative lives in a condo in Florida and told us it might be an option for us for a few days on our upcoming vacation. I u understand there is a fee involved and it is only available for 2 of the 3 nights we are looking to spend. I will ask the relative bu5 can you mamas help me out...do you think I need to supply bedding or is it more like a hotel ??? How does this work?? I feel like a country bumpkin
Linens and kitchen items, cleaning items and washer and dryer were provided and we ended up paying a small fee for housekeeping because we were leaving at 5 am to make a flight and couldn't do a walk through at that hour.. The space was nice but i wasn't comfortable and I would much prefer a hotel. I could see it working better if we had a large family or multiple families sharing the space for an extended time. All tokd i think it was a similar price to hotels in the area.

It is not like a hotel, and how it will work is up to your relative. I have a friend who graciously lets me stay in her florida condo sometimes. She has bedding and towels there, but we do all the laundry on our way out (as well as the dishes and clean the kitchen and bathroom, vacuum floors, etc) so that everything is fresh for the next person. I go out of my way to leave it in even better condition than I found it because I know that she is saving me quite a bit in hotel costs.
I have also rented a condo from a management company. In that case, in addition to the rental fee, I paid a fairly significant additional fee for a cleaning company to come in behind us and do the laundry and clean everything. This was more of a business transaction and less of a favor.
In both cases, the condo was fully equipped with linens, etc. The difference was in whether we cleaned up after ourselves or we paid fees for someone else to do it.
Each place is different. Some prefer you bring stuff but most that normally rent out supply all that. Except for food you should be set.
Does a housekeeper come with the rental? Some VRBO rentals provide someone to come in each day and do the beds and clean a bit. Some don't and they expect you to clean up after yourself or they charge you after the fact. Like if you leave a counter full of dirty dishes, they'd charge you for a person cleaning up.
I always take my own towels. I am a large person and bath towels don't go around my hiney. So I take a suitcase that is nothing but large beach towels and bathroom stuff like shampoo and things I normally use in the shower. I hardly ever use a towel or washcloth when we stay anywhere else.
I think you can ask your relative and even perhaps when you reserve the condo you can ask specific to that rental. Even in a project where there are many similar units each one is owned by different people.
We have a friend who is a part owner in a place in a resort town. If we were to rent "their" unit we'd ask them what we needed to bring and what the expectations were. If we rented from someone else we'd ask the other person their specifics.
Each unit is owned by someone that has made their own rules.
Since it can be very different from condo to condo there's really nothing I could guess at that would be relevant.
The relative needs to talk to her condo association so they can inform you specifically how his/hers works.
I find that shifting from room to room to be annoying for short visits so I'd find a place that could cover my whole stay - but that's just me.
I'm confused. The relatives are charging you to stay with them?
I would request information. You want to know what you are paying for and then agree to stay or find a place that meets your needs/budget.
I would hope they have dishes/linens and such, but make sure.
