Hello Mom's...
I am a SAHM of my awesome 16 month old boy. This weekend will be 96 and 98 degrees. Too hot for the playground and my husband works most Saturdays. Besides the weekends, how do other Moms find things to do for their young toddlers? I have one friend that is a SAHM of 3 (the youngest 3 yrs old) and we can go over there to visit over the summer... but what other things do you do? Are there places to go besides the indoor play area at the mall (always crowded)? Are there other Moms in the NE Lancaster area that also find it hard since we are way out in the country? I tried a Moms-Group in a neighboring town and found it to be too much as far as 'rules' and how many events you HAD to attend (says who?) and not age friendly as far as my sons age. Any suggestions? He is an only child with my hubby and I, and my step daughter is 13 and only here e/o weekend. ANyone interested in a play date? Thanks in advance!
Chris

Hello Chris, have you taken your son to the hands on house. It is located next to the Landiville Museum. I have included for you the website. We have been taking my son there since he was 1 and he loves it. If after the first time you find that you have a lot of fun I definetly reccomend getting the family pass.

Good luck finding things to do.

Hi Chris,
Where do you live? We are in Adamstown and we have 25 month old twin boys who are always Go-Go-Go!! We take them to the local swimming pool in which they love to play in the wading pool. We took them last year too when they were only 13-15 months old. They loved it! We also go to the library, and the local playground. My husband works weekends too, so I tend to plan things that I can handle them myself and still have our normal routine of naps, etc. Depending on where you live, we would love to have some playdates and we have a lot of other children in our neighborhood too in all age ranges.

Local Libraries usually have lots of activities during the summer. The pool is great too. There is a place in New Holland called Kids Escape. It is a company that sells outside furniture and play stes. They created a huge indoor playground. It's like $3 or $5 to play as long as you want. It's really cool, mom's can just sit and watch their kids (never crowded either). How about a trip to museums. Someone mentioned Hands on house and that is fantastic. There is a science museum as well.

Have fun and enjoy the summer
