How bout one of dads white collared shirts with a stethiscope around her neck and carrying a stuffed animal?
Ok so my kids school just had a program where they have to dress up like a person from another country.... so we bought the little chinese princess dress, but that is not what my daughter wanted to be for halloween (and we had bought her halloween costume before we knew about this program so can't "make her" switch) now for the "fall party" she is to dress up like what she wants to be when she grows up.... which would be a vet.
I know you can buy childrens scrubs and even a little vet costume/play set thing from Toys r us.... but I have already bought 2 costumes and don't want to buy another. Oh and there is none in the stores now so I would have to buy one online and pay major shipping to get it here before friday for the party so see really don't want to do that!
I know there has to be an easy way to make a vet costume...scrubs or something. I was thinking an oversized vest then using those iron on patches with little pets on them.... any other ideas? those iron on things can get expensive and I would have to find a vest like thing that would work too.
Come on creative mommas help me out here!
Thank you

Along white shirt of yours or dad's to use as a lab coat, go with some bandaides, stuffed animals, and if you have a doctor's kit she can use that too.
http://www.nextag.com/veterinarian-costume/shop-html is a site with a lot of costumes to purchase, but maybe you can find an image that kinda matches with what you might already have at home. Honestly, you may have a shirt that could work as a medical coat, you could probably make a stethascope. And I'd take a stuffed animal and bandage it up as a prop :)
Have fun!
First, put her in sweatpants or anything that looks like scrubs. Or dress her in a white shirt of Dad's as a lab coat. Make a doctors head lamp by attaching a foil circle onto a posterboard headband which goes around her head which she wears on her head. Check for a stethoscope at the dollar store. Have her carry a stuffed animal with bandages on it.
I would suggest a long white shirt, perhaps one of yours or one of dad's, worn over neutral sweatpants. Make a "Dr. Lastname" nametag for the front out of cardboard. You could also go with a solid color v-neck tee in light green or white, if you don't have one then turn a tee shirt inside out. Cut up an old white tee shirt and make one of those face masks. I agree, a bandaged stuffed animal will complete the outfit!
You can get scrubs from Goodwill type stores for under $5 for the set (around here in Ohio). Use a fabric marker, paint or just regular finger paint (and don't get it wet after lol) to put the outline of a dog and/or cat on it and there you go.
I like everything that has been said here....you can probably make a decent vet bag out of a black purse (goodwill/salvation army store one if necessary). Check there also for toy stethescope.
Have fun!
find some old scrubs at goodwill, and make them smaller. most are tied with a drawstring waist, so you could just pull it tight and roll up or hem the pants. or a scrub shirt might make a cute little dress if you cinch up the back. just some ideas.
Get a stethoscope from a play doc's kit, simple white coat or shirt, have them carry a cat, dog (stuffed) or whatever. If they have a play doctor's bag (and you could even create one) you could put the name of the vet on the bag.....Josh Jones, veternarian. Use some of those foam stick on letters or print your own or write or whatever works for your budget.
Take a man's button down shirt in white.
If your husband doesn't need it anymore draw DVM Melissa (or whatever) with Permanent marker. Put her in sweat pants. You can also get to the Goodwill Store and get all sorts of white shirts with pockets.
Have her take a small stuffed dog attached to her and a stethoscope if you can find one, does she have the doctor kit?
Last year my neighbor let my daughter borrow hers, she is a nurse, for one of the dressup days at school, spirit week.
go to Goodwill
Our vet wears reg. street clothes and a white lab coat.
If you have her carry a stuffed animal and a white jacket that would work
Good luck!
