Febreeze has a laundry product you add to the wash. My husband and I own a lawn service and it has worked wonders getting oil and gas smells out of stuff.
My son received a Tshirt at a recent Earth Day Fair. I require that all clothing be washed before wearing, especially this Tshirt--it reeks of moth balls! I've tried everything I can think of and it still stinks! This one may be headed for the garage rag box. Do you have any suggestions?

Wash with oxyclean powder and use a cup of vinegar in the rinse cycle.
My immediate response is VINEGAR!! It's a wonderful thing to have, especially with laundry and clothing. If it's really bad I would soak it with laundry soap and water, adding about 1/2 a cup of vinegar. Then run through a regular wash cycle. I use vinegar fairly often with my wash, especially towels. My kids swim year-round, so we have wet stuff that doesn't always get hung up to dry when it should. Vinegar has saved many pieces of clothing that would have otherwise been ruined by mildew or souring. Good luck!!
Hang it in the sun for a few hours, it is truly a wonderful disinfectant and completely natural.
This stuff gets ALL smells out! It's made for gettting pet urine smells out and it smells good....kind of like baby powder and you can get it at Petsmart...called "Simple Solution". Only problem is that it may cost you more to buy the stuff than it would cost to replace the t-shirt.
GOod luck!
