Hi!

I am in need of an internist or general practioner and I cant seem to find a place that offers actual patient reviews of doctors. I want a doctor that comes on recomendation but no one I know has given me anyone that they feel is really great. I want to find a doctor that will take the time to really find out if anything is wrong, but that doesnt make me feel dumb for asking questions. Does anyone know a great doctor in the Downer Grove/Hindsdale/Darien/Willowbrook area? I would go as far W as Naperville E as LaGrange, South as Orland Park. Im just looking for someones personal experience with a great doctor! I have great insurance so that is not a problem!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

What can I do next?

You can go on healthgrades.com to check out a doctor's credentials, sometimes there are patient reviews which can be helpful however, my favorite doctor was rated as average so it's really more of a personal preference.

Look at the first appt. as an interview, you interviewing the doctor to see if he/she will be a good fit for your long term health care.

I go to Family Medicine in Woodridge (75th and Janes). I have been happy with all of the doctor's currently in the practice. They are 3 male doctors (2 DOs, 1 MD), and 3 female doctors (2 DOs, 1 MD).

They do mostly same day appointments, and I've never had a problem getting in if I need to be seen.

One of the best ways to find a good doctor is to ask a nurse. They know what goes on behind the scenes, whether the doctor is medically competent, has good bedside manners and is easy to work with. And they are usually not afraid to tell you the truth.

If you are still looking for a good doctor, you might want to check out my Internist, Dr. Gail Gizzo-Waitley, who is with Edward Medical Group in Bolingbrook. I love her, and my hubby (an Internist, himself) used to work with her and thought she was a great doctor. If you are open to a male doctor, I'd also recommend Dr. Mark Gomez who is in the same office.

I have a great doctor in Glen Ellyn. My husband is very picky and loves him as well. If you are willing to go to GE, let me know and I'll send you his info.
Good Luck :)
