We went to Burgerking tonight for ice cream and so the kids could play while my sister and I talked. I like this one because they have a section that is on the floor for litlte ones so they can play too when the older ones are climbing up and down. Well, my DS who is 15 months old and a daredevil. This boy has NO fear! He climbed up the slide which had a full circle in it and came out the top. No big deal right? It was about 14 feet in the air and the only way down was one of those towers with alternating platforms or back down the slide!! Needless to say my mouth dropped open! (Don't worry, he is fine, slid down the slide)

So for the question, how did your kid scare you today?

What can I do next?

I don't have tiny tots anymore. My older one is scaring me today by going to the DMV for her senior license.

Without sounding homophobic, nor intending any offense: my almost 16yo son came home from band camp & announced, "I can't wait for Cross-dressing Day!". OMG....LOL all the way!

He & his best friend are in competition for the "Best of the Day" sash & have decided to out-do each other. In my son's case, his section leader is more than willing to loan him some of her clothes....& my son's best friend has a sister in band who's more than willing to help. & of course, the two girls involved as their "partners in crime" will be wearing the boys' clothing. In fact, each couple has a theme going for their costumes.... can't wait to see the pictures!

& this same son is headed for the license bureau on Friday for his much-anticipated driver's license! A whole week of scary!

A couple of weeks ago when we were traveling back from my parents house, my 5 year old son and I stopped at a gas station to use the bathroom. It's about 2 in the morning and only one of the stalls is working. I let him go first and told him to stay in the bathroom until I was done. I come out and he is nowhere to be found. I hadn't heard any doors open or anything, so I had no idea where he was! I am looking in all the broken stalls, around the sink, etc. Finally he pops out of the supply closet and yells boo. He wanted to scare me, but it wasn't yelling boo that did it!

when my son did that the first time (climbed all the way to the top of the play area) he got scared and i had to literally climb up the platforms and bring him down. and this girl was almost 250 lbs at the time, lol. good times....

last week my entire family went on a float trip. we stayed in one of those river cabins, you know, the ones with barely any amenities other than running water and some beds (it was great! lol!) well there was no carpet anywhere, and my 5 year old son didn't listen the five times we told him NOT to run in the house - and fell on the stairs, which were bare wood. i thought he was okay, he was startled and all but got up, then suddenly started SCREAMING HYSTERICALLY - the scream that says something is very very wrong. it sounded like he was either possessed or someone had cut off a limb. he yelled something right before he started screaming that i couldn't understand. turns out the edge of the step caught him in the chest and throat. what he had screamed was "MY NECK FEELS WIERD!!!" i envisioned all kinds of horrible things. i don't know what happened (got the wind knocked out of him?) but after a moment he was fine. no blood, no bruises, nothing. FREAKED ME OUT!

I love this question!

My 2.5yo daughter is a huge daredevil and a wannabe paratrooper. She tries to climb and jump off of everything. Thankfully she always announces herself before she takes the plunge so usually I can catch her. But if I'm in another room and hear her little voice say 'Ready, jump!' my heart hits the floor every time. Just the other day she pushed her baby sister's playpen up to the staircase, climbed up to the third stair, and was in the middle of her 'ready jump' complete with booty-shaking windup before I grabbed her. She almost executed the classic ambush from above only to be thwarted by the evil M.. She was bummed but I'm sure baby sister was grateful...

I lost my 4 year old daughter at the beach on the Atlantic Ocean. I saw her go into the shallow water where she was playing very comfortably for a while ( I was within distance of us hearing and seeing each other at the crowded beach. So I was not far at all. Plus she swims rather well and does not venture out much past her knees). I took my eyes off of her to assess the situation with another kid in the group (about 30 seconds) and when i looked back, she was gone. I frantically searched the water but an ocean is very different than a pool. So I panicked. Luckily, other people were watching for her as well and spotted her about 50 yards off course of where we were. She just came of the water and mistook another umbrella for ours. Nonetheless, that was the most panicked I have ever been in my life! A large ocean, a large beach.... Where do I begin to look!!?? Luckily, the forces were with us today. Oh how I panic again just thinking about it!

I was at my son and DIL's last night and my 18 month old grandson climbed up in a chair and then proceeded to climb up on top of the table next to the chair. This is a regular height kitchen table. He gets to the top of the table and stands there all proud of himself. He moved so fast and neither of us could move in time to grab him. DIL got him and took him off the table and turned the chair so he can't do it again. But it scared the daylights out of both of us.

My 7 year old son's kindergarten teacher (who we are close with) had a baby last Tuesday. We were out of town so we couldn't go to the hospital, but we went to her house last night to meet the baby. All 3 of my kids held this 5 pound little baby doll and I was nervous!! My 9 and 7 year old did great. The 5 year old did great too, but when she started to cry he freaked out. Daddy was right there and took the baby, but it still scared me. It's been a long time since he's been around a brand new baby!!
