How Did You Dress up Your Toddler Bed?

So correct me if I'm mistaken, but there seems to be crib bedding and twin bedding, but nothing that works well for a toddler bed. As in something that both dresses the bed up and is big enough to also be the blanket. Comforters made for cribs aren't big enough for a toddler because they don't extend beyond the face of the mattress. I actually bought a throw and that came the closest, but I'd love to have coordinating shams and I can't do that with a throw. I Bought a twin comforter with matching pillow sham that I could try to retrofit, but I know myself and getting around to sewing projects is likely never to happen. Right now she just has a hodge podge bedding set. Nothing matches and I just gave up anyways because she was in love with the blankie her auntie sewed for her , and the colors were just to awful to work with. She seems less attached to "monkey blanket" lately so I'd like to fix it. For you moms that found a way to dress up the toddler bed instead of hodge podge it, what did you do?

What can I do next?

If you look online, you can also find toddler bed bedding. The comforter is bigger than for a crib, even though the beds are the same size. Plus the choices are more age appropriate than bears and such for babies. Online would probably give you a better selection than in the store. I know Target had some and Babies R Us has them as well. Google "toddler bedding" and you should get a lot of choices.

Check out Target and Walmart online, they sell "toddler bed" sets that include the bottom sheet, flat sheet, comforter (bigger than a crib comforter) and pillow case. I purchased a cute Elmo "construction" set online from Walmart for under $30, and went into Target and found a "space" set on clearance for $15 for my guy. And the good news for you is there are so many more designs for girls than there are for boys! ; )

Target sells bedsets for toddler beds. They are in the regular bedding section on the same aisle as the other kid bedding. It comes with a comforter, sheets and pillow cases.
I also believe Babies R Us sells set too. I'm almost certain the Tinkerbell set we bought for my daughter came from there. But we bought it before she as even born so I might not be remembering right.
