My husband has big feet so our son also has big feet.
They are both about size 13 extra extra wide depending on the brand.
When my husband was growing up, they never bought him new shoes until his toes were bursting out the old shoes.
It caused some deformity of his toes and he might have to have surgery someday to realign them.
I tried to always keep up with our sons shoes.
There were 3 years (ages 4, 6 and 8) where each time he shot up 8 inches in height and every time it started with his feet.
When his toes got too close to the edge of his shoes - it was time for new which would have about an inch to spare in the toe box and no pinching from side to side.
Those particular growth years I had to replace his entire wardrobe 3 times in a single year.
No matter how big I got his clothes and had sleeve and pant legs rolled up - before we knew it he'd be wearing floods and it was time for bigger clothes again.
(Poor kid - the growing pains were just awful!)
At any rate, our son is in college now and almost 19 yrs old.
His feet are done growing - his toes are straight - and his feet are beautiful!
Hopefully they will carry him his whole life without any problems long after I am gone (hopefully from advanced old age).
Kids grow - it's what they do - and eventually they are all grown up.
Correctly sized shoes are so important.
Your children s feet are precious and I'm just as 'in love' with them as I was when they were first born.

let me peer into my crystal ball..... it shows that there is no way to tell when a child's feet will stop growing. and it states that if you are concerned that your child's feet are growing too big a discussion with their dr may be in order.
In general, most boys feet are done growing around age 16.
Keeping it real here - even when his feet stop growing, you'll still be buying new shoes regularly because they will wear out. The more active he is, the sooner he will need replacements.
I don't quite follow your question - we just buy our kids new shoes either once or sometime twice a year. We try to buy them roomy to get as much wear out of them as we can. My kids feet are still growing - in high school ...
It's probably impossible to say. My brother wore a size 12 shoe in 6th grade and didn't grow after that. My girls feet stopped growing in 5th grade.
What an odd question.
People, in general, grow. Everyone who is 5'10 and a size 6 is not a size 8 foot. There is variety.
My brothers are all 6'0 - 6'2. They are 10-12 in shoe size. My son, 15 years old, 140lbs, is a size 13...and he's still growing!
No way any of us can tell you how big your boy's feet are getting. But I would suggest getting used to buying shoes every 4-6 months for the next 6 years!
This is a good question for your pediatrician who can look at other signs of puberty, growth spurts, height changes, the development of sexual characteristics and so on, and perhaps (no guarantee) give you an estimate. Family history would play a role here. But it's still going to be a guessing game.
Your best bet is to accept that kids grow and need shoes. We always bought new shoes and underwear but made heavy use of hand-me-downs, thrift shop finds and kids' resale shops for shirts, pants, jackets and winter gear to keep costs down. Nobody likes spending money but we accept that, when we have kids, they're going to grow and outgrow things! Try to see the joys he is giving you and not just the bills.
My magic 8 ball says that his feet will stop when he wears a size 18. :) I'm teasing of course, and if he actually wears size 16 shoes, that's already huge.
But honestly, who knows? I just always buy shoes 1 size bigger than my kids need so that they get a little more time in them. Can't go much bigger than that, because they will trip when they walk if you go too big. Growing out of shoes and clothes is just one of those things we have to live with (along with doubling grocery bills when boys hit the teen years, or so I've heard).
OK, I'm going to respond with my first thought. I could have said this years ago (and in a loud voice)! My son went through sneakers so frequently, I was astounded. I hope you're posting was a cry for empathy, and if so, you have mine!
P.S. They do stop growing eventually. Now my feet are growing, due to old age spread!
Shoes aren't just for style, or for keeping our feet clean. It's important to realize that properly fitting shoes affect foot health (improperly fitting shoes can damage feet). I know it's frustrating. My son reached size 13 in men's sizes while still in middle school, and it seemed like sometimes the shoes would be outgrown before they were even broken in.
There's no way to predict. But accept it and make sure your child has shoes that fit. You don't need to buy the most expensive brand name shoes if he's going through sizes like crazy, but don't skimp on super cheap shoes either.
His pediatrician may be able to give you a guess about his future height and shoe size, but it's not an exact science. There was a famous basketball star named David Robinson who was accepted into the Naval Academy. He fit all the physical qualifications, although he was about 6'6", which is the usual upper height restriction for being in the Navy. However, no one expected that in college, over a couple of years, he grew several more inches, to about 7'1, and he was too tall to be on ships or planes, and the Navy released him from his contract. It was a shock to everyone. He ended up having a wonderful pro career in basketball.
Just goes to show that even with Navy physicals and coaches assessments and all the strict exams that a Naval Academy student has to go through, no one dreamed he'd grow so much in college.
At age 12 he's growing into his adult feet. It won't be long until they stop growing and the rest of him will catch up.
Are you saying he wears a mens 16 shoe? If he's 12 there is no telling how big it will get. He must be a big boy. Look at how big the foot is of your familys. That might give you a gestimate. I think my brother wears a 12 and my son is a 12 1/2 to 13. I usually try to get the boys shoes at lease one size bigger like mynewnickname. Any bigger can cause issues.
