As soon as I read "Houston" I knew what you were talking about. I remember but don't recall answering.
So glad it is going to work out for everyone!!!
(you should read my first Houston.. question for this to make sense) Sitting at home yesterday and my phone rings, it's my mom. She says there has been a misunderstanding regarding the dates for the motorcycle trip... I listened intently and she states it is the weekend AFTER mothers day. So as you can imagine there is sense of relief throughout the house.
My wife had genuinely given her blessing for me to make the trip on mothers day weekend. And to be perfectly honest, I had not decided completely to go.
So with my moms revelation.....PROBLEM SOLVED! What a relief.
My wife gets my undivided attention on mothers day and I get to go on my ride.
Oh yeah, a question.. Has anyone had anything work out to benefit everyone?
We live in Houston and my parents live in Dallas. The ride is to Bandera, TX. So, about 3 hrs for me and 5 hrs for my parents.

So glad it is going to work out for everyone!!!
Things DO work out lots of times all because of a little time passing.
Glad it worked for you guys.
Happy Mother's Day, Dad :)
Ground control to Major Tom
Commencing countdown, engines on
Check ignition, and may God's love be with you...
:)
I didn't answer your original question, but I'll say here Yippee! Happy for all concerned.
Now, you be careful on that motorcycle and wear your helmet! Mama said so!
Bahaha!
Dawn
Fantastic! I love it when a plan comes together. It's especially great because you and she were so considerate and understanding of each other in this siutation. Just think how embarassed you'd feel if one of you were pouting and pissy and it turned out to be just a misunderstanding. That's why I try not to "borrow trouble" by getting upset about things that haven't happened yet. More times than not everything works out fine in the end anyway.
Great news! Worked out well for all!
Great!!! I've been checking back on your other post to see what you decided. So glad that it worked out for everyone! Have a great time!
Oh my, the last few years, things have worked out completely to our benefit. Even if at the time they seemed like disasters.
1. We tried to buy a house back home and couldn't get the deal sealed. A few months later my husband's practice went under. Good thing we didn't buy the house! We couldn't have afforded it then.
2. My husband needed to get out of a lease, and had a friend offer him a room at his business for my husbands practice. After my husband moved in the guy decided to buy a bigger place, one that he decided DIDN"T have room for my husband. They were just two weeks away from signing a lease when the guy backed out. We were freaking out about what to do, then my husband got an opportunity and we moved to Florida. If we had signed the lease, we would have been screwed.
3. My in laws come and visit us every July, which just happens to be on our anniversary. So we have a built in babysitter to go out. :)
Glad things worked out! Have a great trip!
Woohoo! Glad it worked out for all involved!
Glad to hear it all worked out so perfectly :)
Like how you threw the question in there at the end. I'm very glad it works out for all.
Yay! Where do ya'll go riding? We were looking at some property near Lake Livingston and the roads were smooth, not so curvy, clean and scenic...but very flat!
*Bandera is an AWESOME drive. Lake Livingston is so hillybilly compared to Bandera...I'm almost embarrassed to have even suggested it :) 'nuther question - how do riders keep the bugs from flying into your mouth? Do all helmets come with a shield? Because most of the riders I see never have their sheilds down. I've always been curious about that...
awww congrats! I think it worked out great because you actually cared and listened to your wifes feelings and were torn even when she gae you the blessing. Had you J. stated you were going and your wife was mad and it all "worked out" phyisically it wouldn't have really worked out in regards to feelings.
So I think you were responsible for this worknig out so well. Even if you got lucky with dates in the long run=)
We were going to go to a wedding in Jacksonville, FL this summer, and my in-laws were going to meet us there (mutual family members). It would have required a non-direct flight for us, and 2 plane changes for them, and would be FLORIDA in JULY! We really didn't want to go, but felt obliged to so that my FIL could see his sister for the first time in 20 years (since they left Iraq.) I have been dreading this trip ever since the couple announced their engagement.
Well, a few weeks ago, my FIL's nephew just got engaged to a girl from San Diego, and they are having an engagement party there. So, yeah! Rather than fly to Jacksonville, indirect, we get to go to San Diego (which we LOVE), and my in-laws are going to meet us there, also on a direct flight 1.5 hrs, versus the 8 hours they'd spend getting to JAX). Even better, San Diego is AWESOME for kids.
Glad things worked out so perfectly for your family!
Great! Glad to hear it all worked out.
