SP,

I'm not sure where you are located in the DMV area but you can try St. Ann's Infant and Maternity Home in Hyattsville, MD. I was a teen mother and lived there for several months prior to having my daughter. Good luck to you!

I am a social worker in Fairfax County and am familiar with the resources there. In order to qualify for most programs, you must be a resident of the city or county in which they are located. If you would like information about Fairfax County resources, your best bet would be to call Coordinated Services Planning at ###-###-####. They are open 8am-4:30pm, M-F. The person you speak to will ask you some questions and then give you info regarding programs that may be a good fit for you. In order to access family shelters in the county (Shelter House in Falls Church, Mondloch in Alexandria, Embry Rucker Community Shelter in Reston, and the Katherine K. Hanley Shelter in Fairfax, you must have a referral from CSP. If contacting CSP doesn't help, feel free to write to me at ____@____.com. I know of some programs that are not shelters.

Good luck to you-

S.

There is a family shelter in Falls Church and another one in Fairfax called Shelter House. Their website is www.shelterhouse.org. They are always accepting donations of baby and kid items to give to their residents.
Their website also mentions you can find referrals and help through the county:
"Do you need shelter for your family? If so contact the Fairfax County Coordinated Services Planning at ###-###-#### for assistance."

In Maryland try the Catherine Foundation. I don't have any information on this organization other than they help families, especially new and expecting mothers. You can look up more information on the internet.
