We stayed at the Hyatt in June and really enjoyed it. Very nice hotel, and right in the middle of the riverwalk, so easy access to everything.
Does anyone have any outstanding recommendations for a hotel they have stayed at recently? This will be for adults only, so wouldn't require accommodations for kids. Looking for someplace nice that is right on the Riverwalk. TIA, C.

I agree that the Westin is really nice. It's the only hotel I've stayed in that is actually on the Riverwalk. If you go this route, be sure to request a river view, otherwise, you'll be looking at the tops of the surrounding buildings.
If don't mind a couple of other recommendations, the Historic Gunter Hotel is really nice too. It's owned by Sheraton. It's a bit smaller, but with a historic charm, within the historic area & walking distance to Riverwalk & Alamo. There's a cafe downstairs with pastries to die for.
If you want outstanding, luxurious accomodations in San Antonio general, hands down I say La Cantera Resort. It's a Westin hotel also, but sits up on the hills overlooking a golf course. The hotel is beautiful, done in a hacienda ranch house style, but on a grand scale. One of my favorite things is the main lobby. The pool area is really nice. They have designated adult & kid pool areas so there is some separation. They even have an in-house Starbucks. It is located north of 1604 near by Fiesta Texas and Seaworld.
The Riverwalk is nice, but honestly you can see everything in a day. If you've never been to see the Alamo, be prepared for it to be smaller than you think.
Enjoy your stay!

Westin riverwalk-- awesome a little pricey but very nice
The Westin, Marriott and I think there is a Hyatt or Hilton on the river walk. All 3 are nice.
La Mansion del Rio is nice and has a great restaurant. There is also a Hilton. Enjoy your trip.
