It was a hot summer when I was pregnant. I remember a lot of mothers lost their babies that year, because of the heat. I laid around a lot, and just took it easy. I got threw it. It's tough, because you feel a lot hotter when you are pregnant then usual. Try to do what you need to do at night time.

I feel your pain. 3 of my babies are Sept (this one was conceived and born in the south!!!!), Oct, and Dec, so I do know what it's like to be pregnant in the summer. Get a snowcone maker and drink lots of water with the shaved ice. It does wonders. It could be 90 outside, and you will be cool drinking that ice cold water and eating the shaved ice. It's like a constant popsicle without all the sugar. If that still isn't enough, get a fan and have it pointed to just you where ever you sit or stand during the day. And have a fan blowing on you while you sleep at night. It's better to wear short sleeves and shorts then the skimpest clothes you can find. A short sleeve shirt will pull the sweat off of you better then just say a spagetti strap shirt. It also wouldn't hurt to ask the doc to check your hormones next time you go in. They could be off a bit adding to the extra hot feelings. You might even be having a girl. Estragen overload! haha Good luck to making it through the summer, and be thankful it isn't any hotter then it is! Relatively mild one so far. :) Take heart in that the months when you will be the biggest it will be winter!

My son was a july baby... as was I. My mom told me a cold shower or bath before bed. Keep a fan on you bed so that it stays cool while you aren't in it. When you curl into bed keep a fan at the base of the bed and one up at the top (thank god they make quiet ones now) Or you can always buy a window a/c just for your room (that was what I did)... the funny part of being preg though (in my eyes) is even when it's 30 below outside a pregnant women will still be warm :) Best of luck

I was in my 3rd trimester last summer! It was awful. I didn't even have an air conditiner so I just sat in front of the fan all day. Try no to be up moving around a lot, drink a lot of cold water and eat popsicles!

hi J.,i lived in kansas when my 3rd child was born it was in june and they said it got up to 115 degrees.we were military waiting for housing to be avaible.we rented a moble home.the air conditioner pumped in this sulfur smell.i thought i would bake in in that trailer it was not fun.what i can remember that helped was a spray water bottle to keep the air from the fans cooling me off.i would keep frozen water bottles on hand .a cool wash cloth on the back of my neck and forehead helped.keep a cooler full of ice /drinks and extra wash cloths to switch as they need to be colder.wrap a wet towel around your hair.this and what the others tried.i hope some of these help.if i remember more i will let you know.

Since my daughter was born in June I never had this problem but do have a suggestion. When its hot my daugher always has a small pool fulled in our back yard. Now these are kiddy pools so its not like I'm able it sit in them with her but I will spend sometime standing in the cool water and it does help so my suggestion is to get some type of "tub" that you can put cool water in and soak your feet when your really hot. Your circulatory system should help to cool the rest of you.
