Try Kent Novelty on Michigan in downtown GR. I know they carry stadium horns so they might have something smaller.
My son is in preschool and he has to dress up like a storybook character. We decided on Little Boy Blue. I have the overalls and the straw hat, but I do not have a horn. I've called everywhere imagineable looking for a horn or trumpet, french horn, etc., but no one carries anything close. It's too late to order something online also. I've thought about making my own horn, but I have no idea how to make one. Do any of you crafty moms have any ideas on what I can do?
Thanks so much!
Thank you everyone for your suggestions. Believe it or not, I could not locate a horn anywhere. I went to Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Toys R Us, JoAnn Fabrics, Walmart, Target, (you get the picture)--no luck, not even an ornament. So, I ended up printing a coloring page that I found online, had my son color it, cut it out and he used that. I'm sure in the next few weeks as the holiday season approaches, I will see horns everywhere. Thanks again, as always, you gals are great:)

You're kidding. Toys R Us doesn't have something like that? I am amazed. Try a party supplies store for New Years Eve noisemakers. They always have 'tooters' and horns. They may not look like a trumpet, but it's a horn. Check Toys R Us first tho. They should have things like that. Kiddy instruments.
Get a bike horn...and remove theblack (or red) squishy ball a the end.
What about a Christmas ornament horn... I know I have several.
Oh my gosh - just cut one out of cardboard and paint it yellow (or gold) then outline it with a black paint pen. Look through your or friends, relatives, Christmas stuff too - sometimes there are french horn decorations at Christmas time. Good Luck!
It might not be the 'right' kind of horn - but you could always use a gold party horn. The kind that you just blow and it makes noise - not the kind that roll out.
You might try a toy store - if you haven't already - and look in their toy instruments. It seems to me that I saw one at Target at one point - but I couldn't tell you when. Amazon has some too and you should be able to get it here in time - they are saying Tuesday if you select 1 day shipping - but you will pay for it, of course. :-)

hi...perhaps you can find one of those horn looking baskets at a craft store that people put fruit in...i believe a cornucopia. you can spray paint it gold!
You might try drawing an outline of a horn/trumpet on a piece of thick cardboard. Then paint it bright yellow and cut it out. It will be flat but at least you could get the idea.
i have saw them at meijer in the xmas stuff .and the dollar store two. i would also check micheal craft store.. if all eles fails try the toy section the have some kind of horn by fisher price
Do you have a Party City? They surprise me with the things they have in there. I saw a horn with a Happy New Year sign on it on their website (which could be removed of course) but I doubt they have New Year things at the store yet? Halloween store near you for the season?
I would try the toy section of your local walmart or traget or toys r us. I have seen some plastic instrument in the toy section awhile back, but can not remember what store it was in.
Just take an empty cardboard paper towel tube and cover it in tin foil, and secure either with glue or tape. Then take a permanant marker and make a line of black circles along the length for the holes (kinda like a flute) the kids are in preschool and really if its not exactly a "horn" its ok, at that age its all about using their imaginations!
I'm almost 100% postive toys r us has a play one for like $2 in their value toys section!
can't he take a toy trumpet or a horn meijers have them in the toy section and if you call any music store they have horns or any musical instrument there if you want it to be real you can check craigs list or ebay too.
