Ok, so, i have done some research on the internet, and i have read a little about hormonal imbalance, since i have had negative hpt and blood tests, i assume i am not pregnant, but am wanting to figure out why i haven't started this month. I am 2 weeks late and i always have regular cycles. Does anyone else know about hormonal imbalance? i read that it can happen if you have additional stress in your life (which i don't) or if you have just gone off of Birth control (which i haven't) so i wouldn't know why i would have a hormonal imbalance. and if that is all it is, when should i start my period? is there a time range in this? If anyone knows anything about this, please let me know! Thank you

What can I do next?

Hi N.!
I understand your concern about your cycle. You are young and you obviously have not had trouble having babies or a cycle. However, there are lots of factors that can go into a hormonal imbalance. None that would cause such an immediate change though, so I would continue to follow up on the pregnancy tests.

Another cause could be recent weight loss or gain, diet changes, or anything like that. Our meats, particularly chicken and soy products have ALOT of estrogens in them. Any excess of these things?

Good Luck. Let me know if I can assist you further.

I would talk to your gynecologist for sure. Many years ago I missed my period and when I went to the gynecologist it was because I had endometriosis. It is actually very common in women so it may be a possibility. You can research it online and it will tell you all about it.
Good Luck

Obviously there are tons of reasons why you could be late. If you have recently started any physical activity than can make your periods stop or dely or weight loss.
I would talk to your OB/GYN

There are a lot of things that could make you skip a cycle. Most common have nothing to do with your reproductive system at all. Low thyroid levels will keep you from producing estrogen. Additional weight will suck up estrogen. Both of which will keep an ovary from making the ovum on time. Even breastfeeding could make you skip a few months. Blood sugar, pituatary malfunction and blood pressure are all good reasons that you could have lazy ovaries

You have a 9 month old and you cannot count on your cycles to spring back to exactly like they were before you had kids. Having 2 so close together and trying for #3 will also tax your system so much that something's gotta give and you've seen what is going to give, your estrogen.

You could have had a reproductive syndrome that went undiagnosed because you weren't actually trying or on birthcontrol. You don't need gyn to diagnose this just go to the doctor and ask for blood tests to make sure that every thing is at the right level. most of defficiencies can be fixed with just a little pill and are needed to ensure a healthy pregnancy.
