Homeopathy Question (Any Naturopaths?)

I took antimonium crudum (3 pellets, 30 c strength, which is less than the indicated amount on the package) after reading that it can be used to treat planar warts. After taking it, I read online that antimony is a fatal poison! Surely, the homeopathy isn't in a strength that's going to poison me, right? There's very little information I can find online, and I can't help but feel a little hypochondriasis about feeling nauseated (a symptom of antimony poisoning).

Can you put my mind at ease? Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you all for the encouragement! It's good to hear I'm not dying. :)
I'm actually also doing the duct tape trick -- I was just looking for something to speed it along. Even if there's no actual antimony in it, I still think I'll shy away from anything called "antimonium" in the future! :)

No, I don't think it will poison you.

One of the most interesting features about homeopathy is that by the time a remedy of 30C is formulated, there are no actual molecules of the original substance in it. So antimonium isn't even present in the remedy, although homeopaths (and pleased patients) believe that there is some sort of energy signature that's transmitted from the original substance to the final product. That energy signature is what the patient's body "reads" and responds to, but without any of the dangers they'd encounter if ingesting the original substance.

Thus, there's no danger of getting poisoned by any of the plants or minerals from which the remedies are made.

This odd fact is the main reason homeopathy is not recognized by evidence-based scientific approaches. And, in fact, only about 80% of people actually respond to homeopathy, so the other 20% provide plenty of 'evidence' that this approach doesn't work.

But for those of us who have had great results, consistently and even in spite of a skeptical outlook, it's hard to deny that there is a healing potential in these remedies. I have great results from almost every remedy I've ever tried (sometimes you have to experiment a bit to find the one that's the best match for your symptoms), and my results are completely free of side effects, except for occasional mood changes. That's a better deal for me than a great number of regular medical drugs, which tend to give me horrible side effects. And they're way cheaper than prescriptions. Definitely worth trying.

I'm sorry I don't know much about the antimonium but I can tell you an easier, safe way to get rid of a plantar wart :) put a small piece of duct tape on it, cut to just slightly bigger than the wart, peel it off after a shower and then replace it. After about 2-3 weeks the wart will just peel right off with it. Did it with both of my kids and they never grew back. didn't even hurt!
Good luck!

I'm sorry this has turned into a scary situation for you. One time I took something that was supposed to be a homeopathic remedy for arthritis pain and after I read the "common name" I found out it was poison ivy! I kind of freaked out, but it really wasn't a big deal. I think a lot of homeopathic treatments involve things, just like modern medicines, that can be harmful if you take too much. But because of the preparation and everything if you are only taking the dose from the label you should be fine. You and I have probably both learned to read first next time!
Good luck!

Homeopathy cannot hurt you. Interesting thing is that it often does the opposite of what the actual plant might do. For example, you would take or give your child Ipecac to induce vomiting, right? But, homeopathic ipecac is used for nausea, to calm your stomach. We love homeopathy for many reasons. First of all, it works for us very well. We have had countless successes with it. Secondly, even if a child takes the entire bottle, it will not hurt them at all. It will be a waste of $7, but they will not have any danger of overdosing.

Homeopathic suppliments are completely diluted. I wouldn't worry about the ingredient. I think in order for it to be a poison, you would have to have alot more to make a dent. Contact whole foods if you haven't already. They usually have very helpful people in that dept that can help you determine what is ok and not ok for you to take. I wouldn't worry though--- GL!
