Homemade tortillas are so easy to make. You don't need special flour- you can use whit flour or wheat. I never made corn tortillas. The way my grandmother made them, she would mix the baking soda and salt in with the flour first then cut the Crisco (she used lard) into it with a fork until it's blended well. Add water til you get a consistency that can be kneaded but not too sticky. Break into balls and roll on a floured surface til very flat, then cook on med-high heat in a dry skillet, flipping over when one side is browned. Sorry, I don't have measurements - I don't measure, but I'm sure you could find a basic recipe on the internet. No need for a press, when you have your hands to flatten them, or a rolling pin or even a glass.
